While United supporters recovered Thursday from a night of celebrating their club's U.S. Open Cup victory, the team packed their bags and flew cross-country to begin preperations for tonight's League match against San Jose. It's tough sledding for the Black-and-Red this weekend. United faithful in the Nation's Capital are dealing with Hurricane Hanna.

D.C. United Co-Managing Partner Victor MacFarlane has put his San Francisco condo - all 20,000 square feet and two floors of it - up for sale. The price tag is $70 MILLION.

D.C. stadium update

Building a soccer stadium hasn't been easy in most MLS cities, and the situation has dragged on for a quite a while in Washington despite the presence of a successful team embraced by the community.

But D.C. United president Kevin Payne says no one should be alarmed by a recent Washington Business Journal report suggesting stadium talks could be hindered by layoffs at team owner Victor MacFarlane's company.

Why You Can Support the Stadium Initiative

When DC United and Victor MacFarlane decided to go public with its Poplar Point initiative, I wanted to make sure that I took the time to really think about whether this initiative is one we can support. The reason, as Kinney remarked to me recently, that this is coming out now is that future Poplar Point development plans will either be guided by the Anacostia Waterfront Corporation's (AWC) plans, or by an alternate vision.
