The Swiss roll and the Tigers roar

0
**Good news of sorts that Poland & Ukraine have not been dropped as Euro 2012 hosts, despite widespread rumors to the contrary. Much as I love tournaments in new places, these two countries have an impossible-looking job beyond rebuilding their stadia in time for kick-off. Any host nation must also be able to ferry thousands of visiting fans around the country 24/7. Click to continue reading...

Euro Cup expands

0
While people wonder if an increasingly unstable Ukraine will be able to host Euro '12, there's new news about Euro '16.

It's gonna have 24 teams!

That's about half of the soccer-playing countries in the continent.

Can you diluted?

I'm sure it'll still be awesome, with more upsets and excitement, but I don't like it. Click to continue reading...

Frustrated and disappointed with relief, those were the words that Arsene Wenger used in his post match interview to describe Arsenal's result in the Ukraine. By 1970's Gooner The attitude of the players for this away Champions League game in the Ukraine looked to have been set by all the comments by Arsene Wenger prior to the game. Arsenal takes cold comfort from memories -- Guardian Headline

Oh boy. We've all been here before, haven't we?

You know, when we look back over our lives looking for that memory labelled 'Made a Difference' only to find pubs, cigarettes, and reruns of Degrassi High in its place, and then pondering the terrifying problem of how we could possibly morally justify our brief exertions on this giant rotating football we call the planet earth when we have done nothing but self indulge? Welcome to the Foot-In-Mouth Club, Sergei Rebrov.

Nobody has ever claimed that footballers, in general, are smart. That old saying "his feet aren't connected to his brain" sums it up quite nicely. Poland-Slovenia 1:1. Has Leo Lost It?

2

This game was to be a start of a new era of the Polish national team. This game was to turn the tables after disappointing Euro performance, loss against Ukraine and drinking problems inside the team. This game was to install new faith in the team and Leo Beenhakker. None of that happened as Poland drew with Slovenia 1:1 after a very poor performance.

Ukraine-Poland 1:0. The Only Way Is...Down?

3

Poland lost to Ukraine 0:1 after a very poor display. We tried new, 5-2-3 tactics today, but without much positive effect. No new players proved better that the old ones and the old ones repeated their Euro performance. Fortunately, it was only a friendly where players' main aim was not to get hurt.

Sheva, it’s been real

Poor Andriy Shevchenko. His London nightmare is almost over for a season at least.

Various reports suggest Chelsea and AC MIlan are "close" to agreeing deal that would send the fleeting Ukranian back to his old home on a one-year loan.

"Shevchenko in the Rossoneri shirt? There really isn't much more to be done," Milan sporting director Silvano Ramaccioni told Radio Goal.

This is not a stellar time for the upcoming hosts of international soccer tournaments.
