Top of the table

0

Yes, it's hardly something to get overly excited about (although I love this kind of enthusiasm). But good times call for celebration, even through just five games of the season, as Arsenal sits on top, one point ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool. The biggest point of triumph is the elimination of the dropped points at Fulham.

Another weekend saw another good result. Hard to find a lot of things to complain about after taking down Blackburn, thanks to Theo, Adebayor, and RvP - among others. Nice to see Walcott remain fairly grounded after his hat trick against Croatia. His mazy run set up van Persie's goal, while Adebayor netted a treble.

Oh Arsene, you sly old dog. You cunning old fox. You wily old goat. You crafty old mink. You artful dodger. You devious old armadillo.

Here we sit bemoaning the arrival of Silvestre, praying that you're not going to do something like use him in central defence and convert Kolo to defensive midfielder, and you let us stew for a couple of days.

I've been having some trouble sleeping the last few nights. I lie there almost wide awake then drift off into that sleep that doesn't seem like sleep at all.

I have these strange and weird dreams that make no kind of sense to me at all. Vivid motion picture dreams but at the same time I'm convinced that I'm not asleep.
