The Siege of St. Petersburg

Real Madrid beat UEFA Cup and Supercup holders Zenit St. Petersburg 2-1 to win their first away game in Europe in two years. It was also their second successive win in Russia after beating Lokomotiv Moscow in 2003. It’s Back to Business: Bordeaux vs. Lyon

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've actually missed writing up match previews. It's been over two months since Lyon's last competitive match, which was the Coupe de France final against PSG. Tomorrow, Lyon will be facing off against Bordeaux in the Trophée des Champions, otherwise known as the French Supercup.

Tignes: The Deal So Far + Pictures

As most of you probably know, Lyon have started their pre-season training at Tignes, a ski resort in the Alps on the Italian border. Lyon go there every year for high altitude workouts, which is supposed to make them really fit.

Both Lyon and the France NT train at Tignes yearly.

Serie A 2008/2009 schedule released

Today the Serie A 2008-2009 schedule was released. The season will begin on August 31st and end on May 31st. There will be three midweek rounds slated for September 24, October 29, and January 28. The winter break will be from December 21-January 11. Serie A will also come to a halt three times for the National Team, who will be undergoing World Cup 2010 qualifying.
