GLVC Announces Men’s All-Conference Soccer Teams

Missouri S&T's Pat McNamee (pictured against Indy in September) has been selected as the 2008 GLVC Freshman of the Year. McNamee, a goalkeeper for the Miners, posted 0.98 goals against average, a 0.846 save percentage and six shutouts in league play. He helped S&T to a 4-4-4 conference record and to a berth in the GLVC tournament.

The Drury Panthers looked like a finally tuned sports car this evening as they faced their Western neighbors. The goals were all scored from inside the six yard box as the Panthers moved the ball with pace and urgency throughout the game.

Big College Games This Weekend

In Springfield this week there are a several games with plenty to recommend. Lot's to see outside of Springfield as well, which is also highlighted.

Wednesday - The Drury Panthers men's team host the Missouri Southern Lion's. Game time is 7 pm at Harrison Stadium and there are a full slate of local players represented on these two teams.

Western Michigan Broncos - 0
Senior Allison Osmundson netted the game-winning goal at the 61:38 minute mark in the second-half to give Missouri State their second win on the weekend. The Bears improved their record to 5-3-1 on the season.

Sunday Ozarks Regional College Report

Southwest Baptist Bearcats won both of their MIAA matches this weekend. On Thursday they traveled to Emporia State where they won 3-1.

On Saturday, they went to Joplin where they dismantled the MSSU Lions, 6- 1. SBU's Rhiane Mitchell, who entered the week at the very top of the NCAA's points and goals leader board, scored three goals and recorded one assist.

Texas Woman's - 2
Theresa Sanches scored the tie-breaking goal on a penalty kick in the 57th minute to propel the Texas Woman's Pioneers to the win. The score came just seven minutes after the Lions (2-1) evened the match on a Sarah Evers goal from 10 yards out.

Drury Panthers Tie Division 1 Oral Roberts Golden Eagles

Oral Roberts University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against Drury on Monday night at the ORU Soccer Complex to wrap up exhibition play. The Golden Eagles finished the preseason with a 1-0-2 record.

ORU sophomore Vince Tizzone headed a cross from Josh Erickson into the net four minutes into the second half to give the Golden Eagles the 1-0 lead.
