Hull 2-2 Everton

What on earth has happened to Everton's defence? It's crazy. We are shipping 2 goals a game every time we play. You've got to admire the spirit in the camp but really, what is happening? We've got the Carling Cup this week, the derby and then our UEFA Cup 2nd leg...if we aren't careful our season is over before it's begun. Click to continue reading...

More stupidness, this time journalists

1
Isn't commandment No. 1 for journalists 'Never use any info found in Wikipedia'...?

Well some dude at the Daily Mail (not going to name names David Anderson) didn't follow said commandment and embarrassed himself thoroughly when citing a false "fact" about a Cypiot soccer teams fan base. Click to continue reading...

Newcastle fans are revolting.

A statement which some might argue is true on more than one level.

For the purposes of this blog though, and so as not to upset Mosher, lets pretend we are just talking about the scenes of protest yesterday in the city and outside St James Park. Click to continue reading...

I don't care what anyone else has to say, we were superb yesterday. A few players didn't pull their weight as usual but the ones that did, really did.

I am surprised to say this but Zokora was top drawer, he seriously impressed me. He looks like the player I saw 2 and a half years ago. I never thought I'd say this but I'm delighted he's signed a new deal. Click to continue reading...

All You Need Is Love

0
Tonight I'm going to talk about love.

The role of love in football.

It's a tricky subject in some ways. We all have our definition of love and it takes many different forms.

The kind of love I want to talk about is the love we have for the people we work with and for. Click to continue reading...

The more AW talks the more frustrating he becomes

Perhaps some football tonight can take our minds off all the stuff like ...erm... football. Er... it's the return leg against Shteve McClaren'sh FC Twente and the good news is that Cesc Fabregas is fit.

The boss says he doesn't know if he's going to play him from the start or not but I think he will.

Reading into the reaction

1
I'm not quite as angry as I was on Saturday, the rage has now become more a feeling of let down and disappointment. Some interesting words have been spoken since the Fulham game which do throw some light on what exactly went on. Emmanuel Adebayor had this to say: "We saw that as soon as we don't play together, as soon as we don't put our spirit together, we can lose. Click to continue reading...

Births, death and a midfield marriage

1
A fledgling Charlton side came out on top in a highly entertaining early kick off at the Valley. But is this the birth of a good side? Just what did we learn from playing what was a largely intact Premiership side in Reading FC? The Inspector was at the game in body but not in spirit, having heard of the untimely death of a friend, so my observations will have to do. Click to continue reading...

U.S. v. Nigeria redux

I did stay up to watch this one the other day. The thoughts are coming late 'cause I've been working like crazy recently.

Anyways, I came upset that Adu and Bradley has disqualified themselves from the match.

That anger went exponential when freakin' Orozco -- who I never want to see again -- throws a stupid elbow like a petulant child to get ejected. Click to continue reading...

"It is easy -- terribly easy -- to shake a man's faith in himself. To take advantage of that to break a man's spirit is devil's work."

"If history repeats itself, and the unexpected always happens, how incapable must Man be of learning from experience."
George Bernard Shaw

I was asked by a reporter from the News-Leader about what the All-Star game represents for me. After spending a couple of hours digging through hundreds of photos, and posting 98 of them to my Flickr and SmugMug sites, I think I can distill it.

Julie Foudy smacks down Tommy Smyth

32

Tommy Smyth is an execrable piece of humanity. After the Turkey - Germany match, he condescendingly dismissed Turkey's performance as "No one will remember who played the semi-finals, it only matters who won, and Germany won." He then went into a paean on how Lahm scored a goal which strikers would be well advised to watch.
