Or Down You Fall - On Ronaldinho, Eto´o and Deco

`The world is just a simple circle, You´ve got to keep on turning...´ While EURO 2008 continues to dazzle in Austria and Switzerland, with Spain basking in the glory of eliminating long-standing rivals and world champions Italy, over in the Iberian nation´s second largest city the fallout from FC Barcelona´s miserable season continues following the recent public declaration by new coach Josep Click to continue reading...

Deportivo la Coruña - The Gift and the Curse

0
Miguel Ángel Lotina was recently asked for his thoughts on the dramatic turn of events that occurred during Real Madrid vs Getafe, a match in which ‘the other' Madrid side won by a much-talked about goal to nil. ‘If you score a goal, the first thing you must do is check for the linesman's flag, always' was the Deportivo la Coruña manager's response. Alfredo di Stefano, the legendary Real Madrid striker who terrorised clubs all over Europe and the world years ago when football was more about skills and dribbling instead of fast paced athleticism, will be honoured by Spanish Primera Liga club Real Madrid with a large statue to be placed in front of the club's training ground. Whatever Happened To Denilson?

5
Denilson was once touted as the young bright hope of Brazilian soccer, and even compared to the great Pele. Blessed with quick feet and a dribbling style that resembled many Brazilian legends that had gone before him, Denilson was a hot property in Europe before landing in Spain. Once there, he suffered the same plight that befell many other young Brazilian players before him that came with the 'next Pele' nametag. Click to continue reading...

Spanish Primera Liga - Sevilla vs Barcelona Match Highlights

8
While my editorial team works on the match highlights for this match of the week in the Spanish Primera Liga between Sevilla and Barcelona, I just want to report on how the game went first. After a result which could mean the end of Barcelona's title challenge, Barcelona was unlucky not to have snatched maximum points at the end of the game. Click to continue reading...

Spanish Primera Liga 27/1/2008 - Real Madrid vs Villareal Match Highlights

0
Now Real Madrid is really coasting to the Spanish Primera title this season but they are doing it with some adventure and fun, scoring many but conceding just as many. But who cares when you have enough firepower to overwhelm all your league opponents right? You would have thought that this 3-2 win over Villareal should have made Schuster a hero but apparently even by delivering scintillating soccer, the Real Madrid management still aren't happy and want to replace him. Spanish Primera Liga Highlights - Villareal vs Deportivo Coruna

0
Now for the goal highlights between Villareal and Deportivo Coruna. Lots of goals and drama in this game as the home side crawled back from a 2-1 deficit to hammer Deportivo before another late goal for the visitors made it a nervy last few minutes. However, Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci put on a fine show by scoring two beautiful goals and showing how useful a player he is. Click to continue reading...

Spanish Primera Liga Highlights - Barcelona vs Real Murcia

4
The news from the highlight reels regarding Barcelona and Real Murcia is that Thierry Henry is back and he badder than ever! Of course, looking at this comp, you can also see he is back to his old whining self but the man has mad skillz and he's now showing what the Emirates Stadium is missing against Birmingham but you can never doubt Arsene Wenger's evaluation and I'm sure come the end of Henry's playing career his highlights would still belong with Arsenal. Spanish Primera Liga Highlights - Levante vs Real Madrid

2
Here are some highlights of the Spanish Primera Liga match between Levante and Real Madrid. Real as always rode their luck during the game before slowly forcing their authority and in the end comfortably walked away with the points after top scorer Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored twice, once from a penalty, the other a long range stunner, to put the Spanish league leaders 7 points clear at the top. Real Madrid 1 - 0 Barcelona - Video

5

A first-half Julio Baptista goal gave Real Madrid a 1-0 win over arch-rivals Barcelona at the Camp Nou in La Liga's final round of matches before the Christmas break.

The Fabio Capello-esque, notably un-classic Clasico performance - where Barca dominated the possession but were constantly threatened by the compact and quick Real on the counter attack - put Real seven points clear of their second-placed rivals at the top of the Primera Division.

Robinho on form for Real Madrid against Real Mallorca - Video

2

Real Madrid's Robinho is definitely on form as he led his club to a 4-3 win over Real Mallorca in the weekend by scoring a brace.Brazilian forward Robinho was in sparkling form and twice put Real ahead in the first half, only for Fernando Varela's equalisers to keep Mallorca in the game.

Daniel Guiza put the visitors in front for the first time after the break but further goals from Raul and Ruud van Nistelrooy maintained Real's 100 percent home record.

Wehn David Beckham turned his back on Real and left for the U.S.A the number 23 was left alone, however it has since been given to new signing at Real Madrid - Wesley Sneijder and by the looks of it as evident in the video below Real won't miss Becks too much as Sneijder can actually pack a punch in freekick and best of all..he can even dribble too!

Antonio Puerta - 26 November 1984 – 28 August 2007

1

My deepest condolance to Antonio Puerta and his family, it brings me memories of Marc-Vivien-Foe and how he too dies too early on.

On 25 August 2007, Puerta collapsed and lost consciousness during Sevilla's first match of the 2007-08 La Liga season at their home stadium Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán against Getafe due to a heart attack.

American, dare I say traitor?, Guiseppe Rossi to Villareal

6
The 20-year old Rossi will be taking place of the departed Diego Forlan who went to Atletico Madrid to replace Fernando Torres who went to Liverpool. It's a game of transfer musical chairs. Rossi, well-known for his US-Italy - which team to do I want to play - tug of war, was born in the NY metro area and is one of the many youth prospects found and nurtured by Manchester United, but eventually - due to the attraction of bringing in big name players, already established - he was cast aside. Real Madrid Signs Jerzy Dudek

1

Jerzy Dudek's heroics in the 2005 Champions League final for Liverpool was forgotten overnight, for whatever reason it seems that Rafa Benitez just simply wouldn't let him play anymore and so the 34-year-old Polish Goalkeeper decided not to renew his contract with Liverpool which meant he was a free agent, and while there were rumors that several Premiership clubs were interested in taking him on board the lure of Real Madrid was stronger and today it was confirmed that Jerzy Dudek is now officially a Real Madrid player.

Boulahrouz joins Sevilla On Loan

2

Chelsea's 25-year-old Holland defender,Khalid Boulahrouz , has joined UEFA Cup winners Sevilla on loan for a year.I actually think this is a good move by Chelsea, i know many people want to crucify Boulahrouz for his poor showing in Chelsea colours but than again a defender in the Premiership needs more playing time than was given to him, plus it was his first ever season in the Premiership, Chelsea fans will of course remember the penalty he gave away to Arsenal last season but like i said he wa not playing regularly prior to that and was suddenly thrust into action and lots of pressure was on him to perform, we are humans after all.

Real Madrid Signs Javier Saviola

7

Not so long ago Javier Saviola was linked with a possible move to Old Trafford, however that didn't happen and so Real Madrid decided to scoop the tiny Argentinian from the clutches of nemesis Barcelona for free.

This is interesting news as Barcelona took Eto'o ( a reject at Madrid) and propelled him to superstardom, can Madrid do the same for Saviola?

Torres Wants £100,000-a-week

Transfers are becoming really really big money makers and one case in point is Fernado Torres who is demanding a six-year deal worth £31.2million to join Liverpool, which would mean a £100,000-a-week salary plus £27 million transfer fee from Atletico Madrid, although the fee might be a little less since rumors are that Luis Garcia will be joining Atletico Madrid in the next 36 hours.
