Transfer Roundup (17 Nov 08): Elano to QPR, Dossena to Roma or Juve, Kaka to Man City

2
The winter transfer window doesn't open for another month and a half, but rumors are already swirling about who could be on the move in January. Today's transfer rumors center around a few players who might not be in the best of graces at their respective clubs. Elano to QPR on Loan? Could Manchester [. Click to continue reading...

The Good The Passionate And The ... Er.... Confusing

1
Sometimes a girl following football is so busy she doesn't have time to post.........

So it was yesterday.

I got home and had just enough time to light our brand new woodburning stove before my guitar teacher arrived. Whilst I was having my lesson my lover made tea.

After eating a delicious veggie shepherd's pie we headed off to the pub to watch the Arse/Tottenham match. Click to continue reading...

Five reasons why we should all have known Harry Redknapp wanted to be Tottenham manager

1
'Arry's transfer dealings give the game away 1. Noe Pamarot 2. Younes Kaboul 3. Sol Campbell 4. Sean Davis 5. Jermain Defoe This guy has been running a Spurs team on the south coast for the last few years right under our noses. His new job is basically a promotion from Tottenham reserve coach to Tottenham first team coach. Click to continue reading...

The Sol Campbell Chant By Spurs Fans At Portsmouth

1
Sol Campbell and Spurs are in the news still after their match at the weekend, where Tottenham fans constantly hurled abuse at their ex-defender. The chant itself pretty much offends just about everyone, but its being reported that it was seen to be racist and that the Police should have been making arrests at the [. 10
The Football Association have been urged to take action in a police complaint about the verbal abuse directed at former Tottenham favourite Sol Campbell at Fratton Park on Sunday. Portsmouth NOT Pressing For Spurs Punishment

Daily racism/violence updates

8
I embedded a video of the craziness in Spain and Barca and Espanyol the other day. But, like only soccer can do, there's more.

Apparently Tottenham was abusing Sol Campbell. If not racist chants, than homophobic ones. And Scotland has had some racist chanting.

But some are taking it further than words. Click to continue reading...

I Blame Gallas, But Not Only Gallas...It's Effort Too

2
Ok so it's been a busy weekend and I haven't had a chance to post. I had to coach my team on Saturday, then go to the FSU-Colorado game, then Sunday I had the Jaguars-Texans game so I didn't get a chance to do a match preview. My bad. And maybe I'm bad luck because we lost...to Hull City...at home. Click to continue reading...

There is no room for sentiment-Toure must be dropped.

1
Its hurts to say but I think that Le Boss needs to drop Kolo Toure and bring Johan Djourou into the side.

It's obvious that the Toure-Gallas partnership isn't working. There is no doubt that both are superb defenders but as a pair they struggle.

Both need a dominant player alongside them. Click to continue reading...

Carling Cup Prev: Pompey

1

Chelsea's attempt to regain the Carling Cup begins Wednesday against Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Pompey will no doubt be out for revenge, following the 4-0 thrashing theytook in their Premier League season opener at Stamford Bridge a month ago.

They'll have a hard time doing so.

Portsmouth enters this match on the heels of its most embarrassing defeat in quite some time a 6-0 slump against Manchester City at the weekend.

Manchester City - the new home of JOGO BONITO

MANCHESTER, England (AFP) - Robinho produced another captivating display to inspire Manchester City to a thumping 6-0 win over Portsmouth here Sunday.

This crushing win left his new club fifth in the Premier League table while Portsmouth dropped down into 12th place.

Does Djourou deserve a run in the side?........

1
The Gallas/Toure partnership has always been a talking point with Gooners.

On paper the pair look very strong together but the reality is the partnership has flaws and has been exposed many a time.

The pair are very similar players. I think it's obvious that both play better and look more comfortable alongside a dominant centre back instead of each other. Click to continue reading...

Senderos's departure is no big loss, but we may have let him down.

1
I've put a photo up of Phil in the 04/05 kit because I feel that was his best time at the club.

After a rather unimpressive opening couple of games, Phil came in against Bayern Munich at Highbury and was absolutely superb. He was so good after this that he kept Sol Campbell out of the team for the remainder of the season, even keeping his place for the 2005 FA Cup final (some of you may remember this as the last time we won a trophy). United's slick passing machine simply too good for Pompey...

1
Predictably, much has been made of the Reds lack of a cutting edge up front without an obvious out and out striker available to Fergie. But on the evidence of the Champions performance against Portsmouth on Monday night there's little worry about, with Rooney and in particular Carlos Tevez looking razor sharp. Another one bites the dust

0

So our thin squad got even thinner yesterday with the news that Philippe Senderos has joined AC Milan on loan for the season with an option for a permanent move.

While some people thought the signing of Silvestre (out injured until mid-September, you know! Hurrah!) added some depth and experience to the squad it turns out he was brought in to replace the big Swiss.

BORING BORING ARSENAL, HAIL THE SILVER BULLET!.....

1
I'll admit that Arsenal haven't performed well in the opening two games of the season but we have won both and that is what counts.

We have one foot in the next round of the Champions League and have three points in the Premiership.

We haven't won the two games with our usual tantalising football but we have won in ways we have had trouble with in the past. Click to continue reading...

What’s worse - United selling to City or to Arsenal?

1
Usually selling a player to your fiercest rivals would be considered a controversial decision at best, and an absolute travesty at worst. Think of the outrage at Tottenham when Sol Campbell went to Arsenal, Fergie's insistence on keeping Heinze away from Liverpool, the stick Lampard gets (ok, that's a different story but still), the stick [. Pompey Strenghten with French Centre Back

1
Portsmouth are close to completing the signing of French defender Younes Kaboul. Kaboul who had been strongly linked with a move to Sunderland before his agent declared that the transfer would never happen "not even if there was an earthquake" has played 10 times for the French U-21 side. He joined Tottenham in 2007 and made jut over 20 appearances for the North London side before being told this summer that he was surplus to requirements. Click to continue reading...

Can Senderos ever make the breakthrough?.....

2
Phil Senderos has been at Arsenal since 2003 and has never really established himself a role in the starting line-up.

He is now 23 and still has time on his side, so there is no doubt that he is still improving as a player and will get better.

He seems more comfortable playing alongside Toure at the back and some Gooners feel that this is the best defensive partnership at the club. Click to continue reading...

Portsmouth Want Wright-Phillips and Crouch

1
With a £9 million for Peter Crouch already rejected, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is insistent on signing Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips. A player who was once one of the brightest prospects in England, a few seasons on the Stamford Bridge bench has put a speed bump on SWP's career.

Portsmouth impressed many fans last year as they were strong contenders for a European spot until the African Cup of Nations rolled around and half the team left. Click to continue reading...
