Cobb Snobs. Gwinnett Traffic Jammers. Atlanta Flamers...ahem...these are few of the names (obviously tongue in cheek) that I've seen bouncing around several message boards of late as MLS expansion continues to be a hot topic.

I know I'm being unrealistically optimistic, but let's spend a few moments talking about team names. Click to continue reading...

MLS in Atlanta. Is a Double Too Stiff a Drink?

1
FxB of So Many Balls and I have sparked up a well reasoned debate on the subject of MLS expansion and something I'll call, fan commitment. Because well reasoned debates are so rare on the internet, I'd like to keep it on the front pages rather than the comments for now...and of course encourage others to weigh in. The Atlanta Silverbacks earned three points last night against the Minnesota Thunder. Mac Kandji scored two and Jason McLaughlin scored one to put the Backs past the Thunder by a margin of 3-2.

Both teams had been dispatched in the second round of the US Open Cup, so it is certainly nice to see our home town boys garner a confidence building victory at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium. Click to continue reading...
