Wizards Lowering Ticket Prices

0
You don't see that headline very often in professional sports, a team dropping their ticket prices for season tickets, but that's just what the Wizards are going to be doing next year. As Wizards president Robb Heineman said in the article, "We understand that these are tough economic times". That's certainly a good reason to drop prices on tickets. Click to continue reading...

Winning Fans Over One at a Time

I read the above comments today in the KC Star article about us clinching a playoff berth. It's good to see that getting into the playoffs and having strong customer service is helping to win over more and more sports fans in Kansas City. If you have any friends out there who haven't come to one of our games at CommunityAmerica Ballpark yet, put a bug in their ear about our playoff game next Saturday. Click to continue reading...

Cheese and Whine: Season Ticket Holder Issues

1

I stole this image from a Flikr stream created by "thisguyprints". I hope he doesn't sue me.

A few weeks ago I took out my frustration with the 2008 season on the Galaxy front office, sending a lengthy e-mail to my season ticket rep and laying out my conditions for renewal. I turned that e-mail into this post from September 10th.

Evans, Da Silva, Welbeck - Who Do You Want To Start Tonight?

1
Last year, to the relief of all Manchester United season ticket holders who were forced in to purchasing Carling Cup tickets, our lads were dumped out of the League Cup at home to Coventry. Sir Alex Ferguson was less than impressed, loaning out the youngsters who he didn't feel pulled their wait in the 2-0 defeat. Click to continue reading...

Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times - All about the money?
QPR have denied that miscalculations in their budget prompted the controversial decision to raise ticket prices just six weeks into the new season.

Liar, Liar

He's been called President Pinocchio, Tourettes and Motormouth (that last one's mine), but if there has been one person on Ramón Calderón's case since he became Real Madrid president, that is José Antonio Abellán, a journalist and presenter of the popular late-night radio sports programme El Tirachinas. Season Ticket Holder Ranting

1

The Galaxy has recently reorganized their customer service teams to create a new team dedicated just to serving season ticket holders, of which I am one. My new rep has taken the time to introduce himself to me and this got me thinking about whether or not I'd be willing to shell out a serious (for me) amount of cash for next year, given the recent history of this team.

All quiet on the Southern front

0
If you're wondering how the Mexican league played out this weekend, wonder no more. The league was not in action, as many other leagues around the world were on Saturday.

The Mexican league ran things as they should run on international fixture dates and gave way for the national team.

Saturday, unfortunately, was status quo in MLS. Click to continue reading...

TFC Asks Me for an Interest-Free Loan

1
You'll remember, of course, the general contempt that TFC has shown for travelling fans. Well, now it's showing it to home fans as well.

My season ticket renewal form arrives in my inbox. Apparently included in this year's price is not just my 15 league games, but also an international friendly (I see they've learned their lesson and are now scheduling only one of these atrocities), two Canadian championship matches, and (drumroll please) a premliminary round CONCACAF game. Empty seats, Gallas's rant, Ade's boos and goodbye to a true Gooner.

0
A few topics.

Firstly, the empty seats at the Grove. It's a mockery that the club continue to claim that these matches are 'sell-outs' when any idiot can look up and see that shedloads of the seats in the stadium remain empty. The problem is, as many have already stated, that these seats are sold seats that haven't been occupied. Click to continue reading...

Is nightmare about to start for Manchester City fans?

0
This time last season, season-ticket holders at Eastlands were bouyant. Thaksin Shinawatra had taken over the club, installed Sven as the manager and funded a number of transfers, including Elano, Petrov and Corluka. A bright start to their Premier League campaign, including a defeat of Man United, contributed to the feelgood factor, although there's currently [. Click to continue reading...

New Wembley Needs Replacing

0
After Sunday's 0-0 Community Shield, a friend of mine said it was probably the worst match ever. Refusing to believe the sport was at an all time low right now (as opposed to a few years/months ago), I quickly rattled of all the worse games that came to mind. The last two FA Cup finals, the League One and Championship play off finals this year, England's pointless encounters recently against the USA and Switzerland were among the first matches I spoke of. Red Bull Park - Another Delay?

0
Last Thursday, the Kearny Journal reported that downtown Harrison, NJ is experiencing a revival despite economic doldrums at the national level. The paper notes, however, that construction on Red Bull Stadium has stalled because of a pending eminent domain case.

"The case centers on several former owners of the property who claim that the Harrison Redevelopment Agency failed to properly notify them of its plans to pursue eminent domain before seizing their properties last year. Click to continue reading...

Red Bull Speaks on the Stadium Status

Wrote Stover,

Dear RBNY Supporters,

There have been a number of inaccurate articles published recently regarding construction off Red Bull Park and I wanted to reach out to you directly to clarify some of the facts.

Is Manchester City manager secretly delighted that bid for Brazilian failed?

We're sure that many Eastlands season-ticket holders will have been glad to see Ronaldinho and his entourage choose Milan over Manchester this week.
