This is rather splendid...

On ESPN soccernet they have shiny new toys for English and German gamecasts. Click on gamecast and then on features and you can see 'Player Heat Maps', diagrammatical representations of the passing moves which led to goal attempts, and each player's average position on the field of play. I have no idea how I'm going to incorporate any of it into my data, but it's terribly pretty all the same. Click to continue reading...

More on Non-Aztex Soccer

Here's a follow-up to my recent post about where one could get one's soccer fix after the Aztex season finished. While I still miss the games out at Dragon Stadium, it's hard to argue there's not enough soccer to keep a fan busy.
