EXPANSION: BarcaMiami Talks Include Use of FIU Stadium

1
Received by email today:

Dear rumor mill,

I just heard from someone that is associated with the Miami connection of F.C Barcelona's, and they are so serous about buying an MLS franchise that there has been talks with the people at FIU to use their brand new 18,000 seat stadium so that they can start play in 2011.

The month of July is getting on in days and while the big names are slowly moving closer to signing, there are still some clubs that haven't made moves like expected. Because of this, I think the rumor mill is... Click to continue reading...

Hijacking a Liverpool move?

2

The rumor mill keeps on churning today, with the latest reports hinting that Arsenal have made contact with Aston Villa about midfielder Gareth Barry. I don't know much I can buy into it, but it would be a good move if Gilberto is indeed leaving. Barry could play a role similar to Flamini, with Fabregas pushing forward while Barry would play a more defensive minded role.

Bolton’s Wandering May Leave Trotters Fans Wondering

1
By: Chris C
Soccer City FC

It's not an uncommon sight at all for the Bolton Faithful to be waiting and wondering what's going to happen next during the summer transfer window. With the transfer funds seemingly in a perpetual void and the better players being linked with moves to teams that have the cash to splash, most Trotters' fans typically spend their summers wondering who we'll lose next, or what virtually unknown player will be suiting up in the White Hot colours next year. Mo Money, Mo Targets

Luiz Felipe Scolari, from now on here at the Offside known as Uncle Phil, hasn't even taken over at Chelsea yet. That hasn't stopped the rumor mill, and it's continued ridiculousness, from churning out obscene amounts of transfer speculation regarding the club. A whole heap of numbers is being thrown around, but the one popping up the most is £100mil.

Idol Speculation

If, as Spangly Princess suggests and his form with both Barcelona and France seems to confirm, Thierry Henry is as past it as a reality show about talentless (but slut-riffic) starlets living among the commoners...does that mean we can crank the Thierry-Henry-to-MLS rumor mill as high as she'll go? We already saw an Henry boomlet when Seattle got the MLS nod (as a result of a malign cosmic conspiracy) and let drop some press-bait re: a plan to stuff the Frenchman's pockets with Cascadian-American dollars. Wazza Gets Hitched, Gerrard Doesn't Attend

1
Wayne Rooney is officially off the singles market after marrying long-time sweetheart Coleen McLoughlin in a 17th-century villa on the Italian Riviera last Friday, news that is sure to break the hearts of the various prostitutes whom Rooney used while the couple was still dating.

His good friend and England teammate, Steven Gerrard, was not present at the wedding as he and his wife (who, by the way, is considerably more attractive than McLoughlin) were celebrating their one-year anniversary in Miami over the weekend. Click to continue reading...

Rumors 6.2: New Lamps Offer

Big Phil at the top of the list
Several outlets, including the Guardian and the Times, now see Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari as the top candidate to take over at Stamford Bridge next season. Rijkaard and Mark Hughes apparently join him on a three-man shortlist. If Scolari is indeed the man, he likely won't sign until after Euro 2008.
