Practice Observations: The Law

Another nice day to take in a FCD training session. To bad there is nothing to play for. I suppose it gives us a head start on our SuperDraft stuff. Unfortunately today is a kind boring session to watch, but there are tons of notes and the coach had a lot to say. Click to continue reading...

Practice Observations: Meaningless

With the season over you might think there aren't a lot of reasons to go to training this week. Oh contraire my friends, there are plenty of reasons. First we get to see what the coach is starting to think about next year, second we (ok, I) get to talk to the coach more one on one and learn some very interesting things, and third. Practice Observations: Bring the Pain

What a beautiful day for soccer, temps in the 70s, partly cloudy, no rain at all during the session. With the team officially eliminated there's not any intensity to training, but Hyndman seemed to want some. He kept asking for the energy to be stepped up and there was some response, but not what we are used to seeing. Click to continue reading...

Practice Observations: Hyndman in Love

Without getting into the math I figure FCD needs to win two of the last three to make the playoffs. With this being the last home game coming up a win is truly vital as RSL and LA can both be tough places to play. Anyone else think a win and you're in game out in LA is coming down the pipe? Practice Observations: The Rose Goes in the Front.

Holy cow is it October already? Dang it this time of year goes fast. Sometimes having to work for a living stinks. At least the weather is terrific, albeit kinda warm for what I think of as October weather. Mid 70s during training. We're in the main stadium, it's quite a bit warmer in there as the breeze is blocked by the press box and stands. Click to continue reading...

This is the time of year I love, the fall. The weather is turning and the battle for the Supporters Shield (most important title in my view) and MLS Cup playoff spots (most important to most other people) goes into the final stretch. It's when the usually tame MLS regular season games become more important. Click to continue reading...

Practice Observations: Wendy’s

Ok so I cheated and used the line I thought of for the last report, based on the team being on the Wendy's field. Which is appropriate give how many strikers were missing today. What amazing weather, so nice I took my CJ7 out to training. Nice ride, except for the part where the Tollway was a parking lot. Click to continue reading...

Practice Observations: Remember

Today is of course the anniversary of 9/11. The FCD blog has some remembrances form players about where they were that day, I found it an terrific read, Ellinger's is the most interesting. To play along here's my story. Click to continue reading...

Practice Observations: From Russia with Love

So Gustov made a call today as an finger of the former hurricane was hanging out in Dallas. Cool in the mid 70s, cloudy, and windy as heck at training. Makes it hard for crossing, but very comfortable to train overall. Thankfully it's not really raining. Click to continue reading...

Practice Observations: Missing in Action III

So for the first time we see Schellas Hyndman really drop the hammer on a player, unless you are counting Ricardinho being waived last week. Ok so Schellas dropped the hammer on two players. In the space of a few short days we've seen one player booted off the bus and another told to move to the back. Click to continue reading...
