Europe’s 10 Most Overpriced Transfers; Or: Prem Transfer Roundup.

Sadly, we could've turned this thing into an all-Prem list, but did our best to look elsewhere. Didn't turn out so well. The problem is so many sums paid in the Premiership dwarf that of those in other leagues - Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, etc. - that it can make their normally [...] Click to continue reading...

My wish has come true!........

0
Its seems that my wish has come true. The other day I wrote that I couldn't see the logic in sending out Johan Djourou on loan and that maybe Big Phil should be sent out instead.

Milan have stepped in and taken Philippe Senderos on loan for a year. This move is great for Arsenal and Big Phil. Click to continue reading...

Another one bites the dust

0

So our thin squad got even thinner yesterday with the news that Philippe Senderos has joined AC Milan on loan for the season with an option for a permanent move.

While some people thought the signing of Silvestre (out injured until mid-September, you know! Hurrah!) added some depth and experience to the squad it turns out he was brought in to replace the big Swiss.

Senderos exits?

0

So I just wrote this post about Senderos leaving. It disappeared. Weird. To recap my point, rumors are strongly blowing in from Milan that the Swiss defender is on his way out the door in a loan deal for the entire year, with AC Milan holding the option to sign him at the end of the loan spell. Senderos joins former Gunner Flamini, whose departure some of us are still mourning.

Dear Emmanuel Adebayor

If you're serious about getting back into the hearts of the fans, tomorrow is an excellent time to start. Not only is it a Champions League qualifier, always a potential banana skin, but we're without a midfield and could definitely use some of your goals.

For those of you who don't read links, basically it says that most of our starters/potential starters are injured.

UEFA liven up potentially drab match by submerging pitch

0
After concerns expressed by representatives from the BBC, (mainly "shining wit" Gary Lineker) that no-one would want to watch the, less than, glamorous Switzerland vs Turkey match, UEFA last night controversially decided to flood the pitch at the St Jakob-Park stadium in Basel with 1.2 million gallons of water in an effort to provide much needed encouragement for British TV viewers to tune in. Euro 2008 update: Swiss out

0

The first struggling host nation is already out. With a 2-1 loss to Turkey yesterday, the Swiss were eliminated from the tournament. This means an early exit for two Gunners involved with the Swiss NT (Senderos and Djourou), but not surprising. It's been a tumultuous time for Philippe as he fell out of favor at Arsenal close to the end of the season, and there were even rumors of a departure during the transfer season.

Senderos doesn’t lose game for Swiss

0

The first of the Gunners were in action in Euro 2008 as Philippe went 90 minutes for Switzerland in their 1-0 loss to the Czech Repulic. It was a dull game, and I fell asleep after 60 minutes of it. From what I watched, Senderos did a decent job of holding the back line together and wasn't necessarily to blame for the Czech goal.
