And Domenech Calls Up…You’ll Never Guess

5

I don't know why I'm surprised by these Raymond Domenech decisions anymore.

Actually, come to think of it, I'm not surprised by these Raymond Domenech decisions anymore.

Raymond lost a DM, a center/leftback, and a rightback this week to injury Lassana Diarra, Julien Escudé and Bakary Sagna.

PHILIPPE NON HA PRESO BENE IL PAREGGIO

Mexes: «Così non va bene. Reagiamo!»

Click to continue reading...

Magari subentrando a risultato acquisito in uno stadio
intero pronto ad accoglierlo a braccia aperte, con i tifosi in visibilio
che non aspettavano altro che i suoi spunti e le sue giocate di
qualità. Click to continue reading...

The List for France’s WC Qualifiers

0

Here's the list for our World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Austria. These games make me nervous. After watching Austria in Euros, I'm thinking that they especially are underrated and could deliver a shock. (Like they did in that friendly with Italy last week. As my co-blogger Chris said, they scored four goals!

AS Roma Star's Car Stolen with Daughter Still Inside!

13
AS Roma Frenchmen Philippe Mexes got the phone call that makes your heart stop.

Mexes was at pre-season training camp when news came to him that his car was stolen from his driveway while his two-year-old daughter slept on the back seat.

Apparently Mexes' wife left the little girl in the car while she dashed inside carrying the couple's young son and the car thieves thought the car was theirs for the taking. Click to continue reading...

Euro 2008: Day 11

1
Italy 2-0 France
Au revoir, mes enfants. You got the feeling it wasn't going to be France's day when Franck Ribery had to go off injured after just 8 minutes, having messed up his ankle in by getting tangled up with Gianluca Zambrotta. Ribery has been one of the few bright spots for France in this tournament, although I do think that Samir Nasri, who came on as his replacement, deserved more playing time as well. France Fotos: If Your Heart is Granite, These Will Melt It

4

In the past couple of days I've stumbled on two great, heart-melting photos of France players who aren't going to Euros. Anybody else get a pain in their maternal area when you look at them?

(Guys, don't answer that.)

First, Djibril Cisse and his son Cassius.

Let's All Worry About France's Central Defense

5
I think it's safe to say that most of us get a little frisson of concern when we think of Raymond relying on the old guard of William Gallas and Lilian Thuram as central defenders for the entire tournament. (Gallas less than Thuram. I adore Lilian, but Click to continue reading...
