Alexandre Pato update

5
Getty Images/Picapp.com 19 year old Alexandre Pato scored in the 49th in their last weekend's match against Lazio. It was AC Milan's first win of the season after three games. Pato has now a total of 10 goals in 21 matches for AC Milan. A decent stats for a budding striker. This wonder kid will go places. Click to continue reading...

Serie A Weekend Round-up: Giornata 3

1

The third giornata of Serie A had less drama and surprises then the last two weeks, but it was interesting and exciting nonetheless. All the big teams won (including Milan for the first time): Inter swept aside Torino, Juventus won a tricky away game vs. Cagliari, Roma ended their "crisis" by soundly defeating Reggina 3-0, Milan finally won with a 4-1 victory over Lazio, and Fiorentina keep chugging along (with Gila scoring goals) with a win vs.

Rossoneri Resurrection, AC Milan 4 - 1 Lazio

0
Calling all Milanista, I got it wrong and admit it but what's more important is understanding why.  The key to today's victory was manager Ancelotti getting back to basics. Take a look at the starting XI, leaving Ronaldinho and Andriy Shevchenko on the bench was the right move.  Ancelotti would instead go with young Pato and Marco Borriello and a Pirlo-less midfield that supported the front [. UEFA Cup First Round: AC Milan V FC Zurich

0
Reading such an illustrious name of AC Milan in the UEFA Cup clearly signals a time of underachievement and ‘crisis', but even as the situation stands it has to be said that the task of pushing aside Zurich is a simple job. The UEFA Cup can act as a relief for Carlo Ancelotti as it temporarily removes the domestic pressures which are currently exposing him. Click to continue reading...

Video: Flamini's new club records its second loss

1

All of Carlo Ancelotti's high powered summer acquisitions were on display. Flamini, Ronaldinho, and Sheva started for Milan but they ran out of gas as a lively Genoa team ran their legs off. Genoa won through Sciulli and Milito's PK in stoppage time. This is Milan's second loss and Ancelotti must be second guessing his high priced transfer choices.

Argentina's Olympic Gold Sets Them Up For 2010

3
The discussion before the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing began largely centered around Brazil's quest for their first ever Olympic title. The question of how the Olympic gold medal could escape the most successful and internationally recognised football nation of all time was one which was frequently asked in the build-up to the games, and one which would often baffle. The Return of Serie A

0
The Premier League is undoubtedly the superpower of world football. Too the extent of Serie A in the Late 80's and 90's. Back then the English First Division had only a handful of great players. There was uninterested fans and media. It was suffering from utter Scouse domination. Aside from history, the English top flight had very little to build on. Click to continue reading...

Olympic Soccer Update

0
The Olympics have pretty much dominated night time TV this week in our house. Olympic soccer is a different breed. Cared about more in the Americas and Africa than in Europe, Olympic soccer is an interesting look at certain countries. It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Argentina and I've desperately searched for their Olympic matches. Click to continue reading...

Brazil: the talent factory

Olyroo expectations lessen by the game, and word

2
HAVING suffered three warm-up losses on the spin to China, Japan and South Korea, at least the talk of an Olyroos medal at the Beijing Games, which kick-off with Thursday's opener against Serbia, has stopped. In truth, having drawn one of the toughest groups and in a tournament featuring players of the ilk of Riquelme, Messi, Aguero, Mascherano, Kalou, Diego, Pato, Ronaldinho, Kompany, Click to continue reading...

It's official: Ronaldinho to Milan

3
Finally, a dramatic big name transfer saga ends.

The Brazilian playmaker (above) is going to play alongside another Brazilian playmaker, Kaka, for the Rossoneri. Both will probably sit behind one central forward (Pato?) in the attack.

The transfer fee was about $33 million, much less than the reported offer of $50 million by Manchester City. Click to continue reading...

Ronaldinho to A.C. Milan its official

3
Yikes, look at Europe because here come A.C. Milan. As reported in Sports Illustrated, Ronaldinho will be joining the ever-growing contingent of Brazilians at A.C. Milan. Can you imagine Ronaldinho, Pato, Kaka, all together next season with the likes of Pirlo, Gattuso, etc.? Its a scary proposition for Serie A and those in the UEFA Cup. Click to continue reading...

Transfer Talk: Brazilians on the Move

3
Latest transfer talk has all three of the above men involved in some kind of prospective transfer. Seems Ronaldinho is finally leaving Barcelona for AC Milan in an 18.5 million euros deal. Best of Serie A round 34

0
The two stand out games of matchday 34 were Milan vs Reggina and Atalanta vs Juventus. The first saw Kaka' return to his usual blistering form by shaking off his niggling injuries to bag a hat-trick and complete a game that ended in a 5-1 drubbing of bottom-placed Reggina. While Del Piero impressed even more, [. Click to continue reading...

Milan Lab - is it really the source of Milan’s success?

0
Having lost to Arsenal a couple of weeks ago a lot of journalists went on 'Milan are old, its the end of an era' rants which personally I think is just a lazy theme that they can knock out quickly and painlessly - this same theme could quite easily have been said when they lost [...] Click to continue reading...

Best of Serie A - round 30

1
Just some video highlights of the best from round 30. Milan only beat Torino 1-0 but truly assaulted their goal during most of the match. Roma vs Empoli 2-1. AC Milan vs. Arsenal: Match Review

7
Arsenal progressed into the quarter-finals of the Champions League after knocking out holders AC Milan in their round of sixteen tie. Arsenal 0 Milan 0 - Still All To Play For…

0

We go to the San Siro with a 0-0 draw. On the face of it, that is a good result, a clean sheet at home and any away goal puts us in a strong position. That's the realistic view but any fan that watched that game must be disappointed. The atmosphere was amazing on the first big European night at the Emirates.

Arsenal vs. AC Milan: Match Preview

UEFA Champions League Champions AC Milan travel to the Emirates this Wednesday to face Premier League leaders Arsenal in a clash of giants. Arsenal will be looking to leverage their home advantage before a tough second leg at the San Siro while Milan will be searching for a few crucial away goals.

Both teams suffered disappointing results over the weekend, with Arsenal on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Manchester United, while AC Milan failed to score in a boring 0-0 draw with lowly Parma. Click to continue reading...

Gazzetta all di Pies - Alexandre Pato scores again... and then gets crocked

Alexandre Pato continued AC Milan's march up the table by scoring the only goal in a 0-1 win at Fiorentina. The 18-year-old Brazilian left the pitch on a stretcher though after spraining his ankle. He will be out for around two weeks but is expected to be back in time to torment Arsenal in the Champions League. Click to continue reading...

Pato es muy bueno, not so Rossoneri?

Can someone please explain to me why AC Milan is so far down in Serie A. I've watched them in Champions League and catch some of their games on GolTV and I still can't figure it out. And just when it looks like they're out of it for good, they uncork a performance like this. Are they just the best bad team in the world or the worst great team? Click to continue reading...

Milan vs Napoli 5-2

17
Sunday meant a lot to Milan for various reasons. Ronaldo’s transfer saga

There seems to have been a lot of speculation and drama surrounding Ronaldo over the last few weeks.
