Award 4: The Donnety

4
By definition, the Donnety award goes to the player who has been the biggest disappointment this year. Yes, harsh, I know. But this award's definition could probably be interpreted in a couple different ways. And because I love controversy, of course I will leave that interpretation up to you. Do you give the award to a guy who has played well at times, but hasn't lived up to the hype or to his high salary? Click to continue reading...

Tebily gone

4
It is difficult to be emotional about a player who only made a handful of appearances for TFC, yet it is still unfortunate that Olivier Tebily has left the team. Homesick ? Personal reasons ?
No denying he was part of the defensive success of the homestand and the depth and experience he offered lead to the trading of Pat Phelan. Click to continue reading...

Five changes to the Chivas USA starting lineup from the team that faced Santos Laguna Wednesday (or as one press box observer said, the A team is back).

Dan Kennedy is in goal, while Claudio Suarez and Bobby Burling return in central defense, Cary Talley is at right back and Pancho Mendoza at left back (although he and left half Jonathan Bornstein have been switching off in recent games and presumably could again).

Revs Outlast Pachuca in SuperLiga

1

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- A depleted New England Revolution squad exchanged chances with Pachuca for 90 minutes without either side finding the back of the net, before Khano Smith buried a penalty kick deep into stoppage time to give the Revs a 1-0 win in their second SuperLiga game on Wednesday.

The Revs all but ensured they will advance to the SuperLiga Semifinals, but all the positives of the night were overshadowed by Pat Phelan, who was knocked unconscious and taken off the field on a stretcher before heading to the hospital.
