Yet another twist in the Bradley transfer saga as the deadline approaches in just five days. This morning here in Europe, word has come out on Footmercato. Click to continue reading...

Champions League beckons for Europe’s big guns

1
Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal should all stroll into the Champions League group stage this week but there could be a nasty surprise in store for Liverpool. Barcelona, European champions in 2006 with their victory over Arsenal in the Paris final, were 4-0 winners over Wisla Krakow two weeks ago in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie. Another one bites the dust

So our thin squad got even thinner yesterday with the news that Philippe Senderos has joined AC Milan on loan for the season with an option for a permanent move.

While some people thought the signing of Silvestre (out injured until mid-September, you know! Hurrah!) added some depth and experience to the squad it turns out he was brought in to replace the big Swiss.

Now the real circus begins as news items slowly leak out about teams interested in American defender Oguchi Onyewu. After interest from PSG came out of Paris a few days ago, this afternoon Eurosport is stating that Lazio has renewed its interest in Gooch. Oly, oly, question's free

1
It's been a while since I've posted a trivia question.

In honor of the Olympics, here's this one: The U.S. men have participated in a dozen editions of soccer at the Games, beginning with Paris in 1924. In all that time, who has scored the most goals for the U.S. men's team?

News from Beulah and Paris Hilton … a Header I Never Could Have Imagined Writing

1
First, the Paris part.  She's participated in a video response to McCain's campaign ad - you know - the one where he implies that Obama is just a celebrity.  It's doing well on the net ... and Paris has risen a notch in my estimation (although she still has a ways to go before she [...]SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "News from Beulah and Paris Hilton . France Foto: Everything Old is New Again

6
Look who's back in France. Ludovic Giuly and Claude Makelele have moved to Paris and put on the PSG uniform. Rumor is that Louis Saha may soon follow. Interesting strategy on the part of the hugely troubled PSG. Fill the team with aging-yet-loved returning prodigal internationals. If Click to continue reading...

Ludovic Giuly returns to his native France

0
Well ex Roma star Ludovic Giuly will return to his native France signing with Paris Saint Germaine. He is 32 and i feel on the other side of his career but i think Romas midfield will miss him.Maybe that's me being sentimental. He signed a three year with the French giants who have not lived up to their reputation these last few years so his addition will be of great value. Cesc - Wenger - Senna - and other stuff

3

It's July 1st. You know what that means. Oh yeah. That's right. You know it. Ah-ha.

Tomorrow is July 2nd.

Cesc Fabregas has dedicated Spain's win in Euro 2008 to Arsenal fans. Which is nice. I was delighted for him that Spain won but really it doesn't mean anything to me.

Carlos Bocanegra is off to France

14
US center back Carlos Bocanegra is no longer without a club as he has signed a three-year contract with French side Rennes. This move means Portsmouth defender Djimi Traore will not be part of the club next season.

Rennes are a good French side, but not one the of the best. They have made it to the UEFA Cup twice in the last 3 years, however both times they failed to get out of the group phase. Click to continue reading...

Photo credit: Hugo* on Flickr, via the Pitch Invasion photo pool. In the second of our photo series this week on the 2006 World Cup, here's the unpleasant side of "celebration" from the night France beat Brazil 1-0 in the quarter finals. McFadden's ridiculous strike versus France (video)

France 0, Scotland 1. Felt weird writing that. Ths Scots definitely deserve to go through if they can pull off at least a draw with Italy coming up in Glasgow. And if your looking for John Arne Riise's signature strike versus Greece, go here. Cheers.
