The Wizards are back on the field on Sunday when they travel down to Houston to take on the Houston Dynamo. West Ham United - Tony Cascarino London Times article

2
Here is a link to another really good article by Tony Cascarino, the former Republic of Ireland forward from the London Times. Tony provides a good account of why Alan Curbishley had no chance of success at West Ham United and how now was the best time for him to leave.

The London Times also provides a listing of the candidates that West Ham are looking at to replace Curbishley. Click to continue reading...

International Week

0

Booooring. Time for a respite from EPL action on the weekend. To little surprise, a break in the action means a lull in any sort of Arsenal-related news, with no games to preview. That and with the transfer window shut, no new signings can be made. Instead, it's cross our fingers and hope that none of the players get hurt time.

Speed Bump

0
At the beginning of August, which seems like a lifetime ago, a new hope and vigor infused the clubhouse at FC Dallas. New signings and a bit of a win streak seemed to give the team the lift it needed heading into the home stretch of regular season play. But when the epitaph is written for this season's campaign, it may tell the sad story of two August matches against the Columbus Crew. Click to continue reading...

For the first time in almost 70 years that Spain's two leading clubs both lost their opening games of the season.Way way back (many centuries ago) in the1939/1940 campaign Real Madrid lost 3-1 to Sevilla and Barcelona lost 1-0 to Espanyol. Since then, neither side have lost simultaneously in the first match of the season.

Everton 0-3 Portsmouth

Everton 0-3 Portsmouth

Ugh! what a fundamentally depressing afternoon. There was just something in the air at Goodison...there was no singing our cheering, instead just a constant hubbub as Evertonians digested the new signings and the cup draws.

Nothing went right for the blues, essentially we had the better of the first half but went in 2 goals down, we missed a penalty and you just knew it wasn't our day. Click to continue reading...

Why Super Cup defeat will give Fergie cause for concern...

1
With the transfer window set to slam shut until January and with no new signings on board Fergie will be concerned with United's lacklustre display in the Super Final in Monaco that ended with Zenit St Petersburg lifting the trophy by the odd goal in three. Vidic's consolation goal led to a late attacking flurry by the Reds, but for too much of this match United were very much second best all over the park. Click to continue reading...

Everton’s new midfield signing set for debut against Portsmouth

1
It's been a frustrating summer for Toffees fans, who have had no new signings to get excited about. After finishing fifth in the Premier League last season, it had been thought that Everton wouldn't be standing still, looking to make the sort of signings that could close the gap between ... Cesc is back, Wenger's cautious comments, and empty seats.

3
The second leg of our CL qualifier is tonight, and I think we've done enough in the tie to see ourselves through. I can't really see Twente scoring twice or more at the Grove, but then I don't want to tempt fate too much, given the perilous state of our defence in recent games.

If I was Arsene I'd be tempted to throw caution to the wind and let the youngsters have a run about. Click to continue reading...

Kevin Keegan talked to the Newcastle Journal this morning, and what he has to say about new signings is a little worrying. to say the least. Match Report: Fulham 1-0 Arsenal

2
Craven Cottage has traditionally been a successful hunting ground for Wenger's Arsenal, but a Fulham side boasting several new signings looked to bounce back from their opening day defeat by Hull. Arsenal on the other hand, looked to continue from where they left off against West Brom with another 3 points hopefully in the bag. Click to continue reading...

Why I Love Arsenal and Hate Fake Fans

3
Sometimes when I write the blog, I scour the internet for news on arsenal.com, NewsNow, a bunch of other Arsenal blogs, etc. trying to find the latest Arsenal stuff to present to you all. Sometimes something just comes to me that I think I should write. This is one of those times.

I live in Jacksonville, Florida, in the United States of America. Click to continue reading...

Jamie’s report

2
Ah well. For fans of most football clubs around the country, the hope is the same –new signings, a new-ish manager, and everyone starting level on nought points – perhaps this year things will be different. Before anything has actually happened to suggest otherwise, it's easy to suspend one's disbelief and dream of a season [. Click to continue reading...

Stoke City Saturday

QPR's Loss to Sheffield United - Match Reports

1
-
QPR Official SIte
QPR's fairytale start to the season came to a shuddering halt with a 3-0 defeat at a noisy Bramall Lane.

Ex-Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp did the damage with a marvellous hat-trick, as Iain Dowie's side failed to use the momentum gained from last weekend.

Rangers were outfoxed and outclassed, as they failed to tough it out with the physical Blades, who had a two-goal lead inside 12 minutes. Click to continue reading...

It’s deja vu all over again

0

Before the 2007/08 season, many critics/pundits were forecasting what would be a negative season for the Gunners. They were too young, too inexperienced - whatever the excuse, this would be the season that would see them fall out of the top four, perhaps only the top three and concede one spot on the table to Liverpool.

The Wednesday Wrap: Some Upsets In Champions League Qualifiers

3
Liverpool played a scoreless draw at Standard Liege that may frighten their supporters a bit but ultimately shouldn't be enough to derail their bid for the group stage. After all, Champions League seasons have been Reds' saving grace for most of the decade. Expect this season to be no different.

Greek club Olympiakos, on the other hand, may not be so fortunate. Click to continue reading...
