And The Academy Award Goes To…Giacomo Tedesco

1
In real time it didn't appear Sulley Muntari had even hit Giacomo Tedesco's face, which does appear to be the case from this replay. But still, it was a tap and Tedesco hammed it up for the cameras like there was no tomorrow (I'm partial to the second angle they show). Did a good job, [...] Click to continue reading...

SuperCoppaItalia

1

So as you can see from the title, 2 things happened in the calcio world this weekend. We had the SuperCoppa, and we had the third round of the Coppa Italia. Let's go backwards and begin with the SuperCoppa. Inter won the first trophy of the season, triumphing over Roma on penalties 8-7 after drawing 2-2 in regulation.

Portsmouth snap up Arsenal starlet

1
Harry Redknapp is firmly in wheeler-dealer mode at the moment, laughing off talk about making some big-money signings and instead focusing on bringing in players on loan or a cut-price deal. You might have thought that the sale of Sulley Muntari would fund some decent acquisitions but the Portsmouth manager . Click to continue reading...

Community Shield thoughts

1
The league season is almost here and the FA held the Community Shield Sunday with United winning another one over Portsmouth.

Here are some thoughts from the game:
• I can not believe that FSC stopped showing the game so Webster read the lineup. Why not just run them across the bottom. Click to continue reading...

Lampard Staying at Chelsea

3
Jose Mourinho and Inter Milan completed the signing of Portsmouth's Sully Muntari for £12.75m and then declared Muntari would be their last signing before Serie A 2008/09 season kicks-off. Good news for Chelsea and Chelsea fans as Super Frank will be staying at Stamford Bridge for the 2008/09 season at least. Click to continue reading...

Oriali: "Ci saranno addii dolorosi"

0
Portsmouth Selling Muntari to Finance SWP Deal

0
In a move that surprises me, Harry Redknapp is selling extremely talented midfielder Sulley Muntari to Inter for £12.7 million. A lot of fans will be wondering why he's selling such an integral player, but if you think back to what Redknapp said last week it's quite clear.

When asked about the possible signing of Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips, Redknapp said he has to sell before he buys. Click to continue reading...

Reports are emerging that Portsmouth are in talks with Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan over the sale of one of Pompey's best performers of the 2007/2008 season. Portsmouth Want Wright-Phillips and Crouch

1
With a £9 million for Peter Crouch already rejected, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is insistent on signing Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips. A player who was once one of the brightest prospects in England, a few seasons on the Stamford Bridge bench has put a speed bump on SWP's career.

Portsmouth impressed many fans last year as they were strong contenders for a European spot until the African Cup of Nations rolled around and half the team left. Click to continue reading...

Africa cup of nations action

1
Thought I'd chuck up some highlights from the African cup of nations that is currently being played in Ghana. It's a really entertaining competition to watch and isn't always given enough coverage. The pressures of club competition and strict tactics don't apply here, it's all about that audacious run past several defenders or that rocket [. Click to continue reading...
