Gomes Might Hate Adu, But His Teammates Are Impressed!

Goal.com has a little blurb from veteran Monaco midfielder Camel Meriem in regards to our very own Fredua Adu. Check it: "He is a super player, very strong with a very good left foot," said Meriem of the 19-year-old American. "For the moment, he is discovering that the French championship is not easy for him. What’s Freddy Adu To Do?

22
Monaco lost 1-0 to Lyon yesterday and Freddy was an unused sub.  This has to be a nightmare for the young american.  I hate to say it, but this club situation is going to be a huge obstacle between him and a regular USMNT place.  He has not played at all in the last couple [...] Click to continue reading...

Duty Free Football: Monaco vs. Lyon

0

Claude Puel has more on his mind than just the three points up for grabs in Monaco this weekend. He's got a squad that's still exhausted from their efforts against Steaua, he has a run of gauntlet games coming up this entire month, and he's hyper aware of the fact that he needs to avoid injuries to players as much as possible.

What Next For Javier Saviola?

0
It is no secret that the key to unlocking a striker's true potential is by clocking up the minutes on the field, and this combined with the diminutive ‘shelf-life' of a career in the sport, means that eyes will surely scour in the direction of Real Madrid striker Javier Saviola when the window opens for business in January. Saturday: Bye Bye Luhukay, Helloooo Mikey B

2
Bundesliga BOCHUM 2 BMG 2 Michael Bradley went 90 minutes in today's 2-2 draw between BMG and Bochum and he looked alright!  He was guilty of some suspect marking in the 50th minute on Bochum's first goal, as you can see below: In any case, thank god he's getting some minutes, and hopefully this is a sign of [. Bocanegra and Rennes Crush Lyon

8
Going the full 90 in central defense, Carlos Bocanegra and his Stade Rennais teammates shocked the French league tonight topping almighty Lyon 3-0. Mickaël Pagis scored a hat trick for the home side to hand Lyon their first loss of the season.

Meanwhile, Freddy Adu watched from the bench as his Monaco side dropped a 2-0 decision to Saint Etienne. Click to continue reading...

USA vs. Cuba, 23-man roster announced (10/11/08)

16
The USA announced their roster for the Cuba match, to be played at RFK Stadium on 10/11/08.  With advancement to the next round close to a sure thing, Bradley has taken a few more risks (well...I'd be happy to debate anyone on how "risky" they actually are) and called in some younger players.  I, for [. Gunners In HUNT For Monaco Duo

0
Arsenal are thought to be tracking Monaco pair Frederici Nimani and Nicolas N'Koulou. Nimani, 19, is a striker from Chad while 18-year-old N'Koulou is a defender and both are understood to have caught the eye of Arsene Wenger. It would not be the first time the Frenchman has brought in youngsters from his homeland to the club, [. Click to continue reading...

The Truth About Referee Favoritism

0

In light of the recent accusations that Lyon get favored by arbitration by getting calls decided their way and the brouhaha over video replays, I thought I would post the results of an in depth investigation by Nice Matin, who took a look at every single error in every single Ligue 1 match in the 2007/2008 season.

Freddy Adu finally made a start for AS Monaco, putting in a solid effort in a League Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain. Ricardo Gomes on Freddy Adu

In the wake of Freddy Adu's sparse playing time at Monaco, SI.com grabbed a quote from Ricardo Gomes.  It seems that Freddy is starting to gain some points in the manager's eyes: "For two weeks, I've looked at him in practice and noticed a change in his rhythm. More Cup Action: Adu starts for Monaco

12
Freddy got a start today and went 69 minutes for Monaco as they lost 1-0 to PSG in the French League Cup.  He played as a striker and by all accounts looked strong in attack.  He made sharp runs in the offensive third that unfortunately often went unrewarded by his teammates, as he was caught [...] Click to continue reading...

Sunday Sadness: No Jozy, No Freddy

3
Neither Freddy Adu or Jozy Altidore saw the pitch as an overhyped Sunday matchday came and went without a peep.  I don't have much to say about it, because I'm crippled with sadness, but let's see... Kiev preview + Kroenke on board?

The squad for tonight's game was announced yesterday and although we're without Samir Nasri and Sylvester we do have Gael Clichy and Lazarus Eboue fit to take part.

Having been stretchered off against Blackburn he's 'recovered' sufficiently to be involved tonight. I don't quite know what's worse, that I thought he was actually injured after having such a good game or that he was obviously faking.

Patto Mutu - Della Valle: A fine stagione addio Firenze

0
