The clash between the Top 10 ranked teams (the Post-Dispatch summarizes the different polls below) was an interesting game last night as SLU controlled the tempo in the first half with only one real opportunity while the Wildcats came out in the second half and slowly but certainly took a more prominent role.

The Barton County Community College men's soccer team concluded a busy week Tuesday after three conference games in six days. Last Wednesday, #4 Barton battled to a 1-1 draw with #8 Garden City Community College. Garden struck first halfway through the second half to go up 1-0. Barton evened the score nine minutes later on a free kick about 22 yards out.

Chealsey Russell (Kickapoo 2008) made her first start Sunday for the Rice Owls. She played 42 minutes Friday. She also started and played 90 minutes Sunday as the Owls defeated Marshall. There's a nice description of the first goal below:

It was Russell who helped open the scoring early in the contest with the Owls' Show-Me-State 1-2 punch.
