Argentines abroad: 27th & 28th September

1
The new season is now a few weeks old in Europe, so I thought it was about time we had a look at the contributions of some of Argentina's foreign legion in the European leagues. So far Sergio Agüero and Gonzalo Higuaín have enjoyed great starts for the two Madrid sides in Spain, whilst in [...] Click to continue reading...

1
It was a good week for Argentina's players in the European leagues, with important goals which will affect the title races of a number of Europe's bigger leagues and one or two eye-catchers further down the pecking order, too. And there were also a few expats on show on the opening weekend of Major League Soccer [. Click to continue reading...

Well, that shows what I know…

3
On Monday, there arrived some proof that you can't trust all my opinions on matters footbally. Back in June, Vélez Sársfield's then-19-year-old forward Mauro Zárate moved to Al-Sadd of Qatar, and I suggested it was madness for him to think that Europe's top clubs would still be interested regardless of how well he did in [. Glory at last!

18
It's been delayed by a week, but Argentines finally get to see the albiceleste lift a prestigious international trophy today. The adults might have screwed up their chance of the Copa América, but the juniors successfully defended their World Under 20 title, with a thrilling 2-1 win over a tough-as-nails Czech Republic side in Toronto [...] Click to continue reading...

There's a pretty big football match taking place in Maracaibo today, when Argentina take on Brazil in the final of the Copa América. There are [...] Click to continue reading...
