Torres Double Overshadowed by Mike Riley

Fernando Torres two goals in three minutes is the difference as Liverpool take the short trip to Goodison Park and come out 2-0 victors that was marred by the horrific refereeing of Mike Riley. I am going to say it like I see it here, Mike Riley has officially ended the FA's respect campaign over the last two weeks. Click to continue reading...

Primetime MLS action

Chicago/Galaxy running blog

2
Last year, Chicago destroyed LA's playoff hopes in the final game of the year. This year, they could pretty much kill the Galaxy off - a little earlier this time around.

LD talks about doing "internal work". Sounds like colonics or something. LD gives a nod to Hispanic Heritage month, saying those were his soccer teammates when he was growing up. Click to continue reading...

Bradley in losing 'Gladbach debut

0
U.S. midfielder Michael Bradley had a solid 'Gladbach bow today, even if his team came up on the losing end to Hertha Berlin. Said Mikey of the debut: "We lost 1-0 today, that happens in football. I wasn't particularly nervous on my debut today, the other players helped me. The fact that I was picked to start only shortly before kickoff was no big deal. Click to continue reading...

Rafa messin' with Liverpool's anthem

0
The coach wants it to be sung closer to kickoff and not as the players walk out.
"We thought it would keep the atmosphere right up until the kick-off and that way the opposition is on the pitch when all the noise is in the ground."
He might have a good point, since there's a league anthem that has to be played before the match and it often cuts into the Reds' fans rendition. Click to continue reading...

- Only in MLS will you see a player on a team walking around the concourse 10 minutes before a kickoff. I saw Pat Carroll in a "fancy" t shirt and jeans. I wonder how many people noticed him. - Santino and Gonzalo don't like each other, and are both demonstrative. I counted [...] Click to continue reading...
