Match Report: Everton 0 - 2 LiverpooL

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres shrugged off his Euro 2008 hangover to score twice to beat 10-man Everton in the 208th Merseyside derby.

The Spain international had managed just one goal all season before this match.

He got himself booked at Goodison Park, argued with referee Mike Riley about the heavy-handed treatment he was getting from Everton's defenders and then hit back where it hurts. Click to continue reading...

Jimmy Bullard for England!

1
Mr. Capello, for reasons unknown as my Dad has pointed out, has included defenders Matty Upson and Joleon Lescott for England's match against Andorra but ignored Johnny Woodgate and Ledley King. Couple this with Beckham's inclusion, Michael Owen's exclusion and the addition of future England legend Jimmy Bullard, we're rightly scratching our heads at what the Italian has in store for us. Middlesbrough Dazzles With Opening Day Premier League Performance

1
The most impressive side I watched, by far, on Saturday was Middlesbrough. The link-up play between Tuncay, Alves, Downing, Aliadiere and, later, Mido was sensational. Wheater was also impressive. At times, it was like watching Brazil with all of the backheels and blistering attacks. Seriously. While Spurs controlled a lot of the possession in this match [. Click to continue reading...

The Secret Behind Everton's Success and Why They Might Falter

5
David Moyes's Everton side has consistently been the best team outside of the top four. As recently as 2005, Everton has even gone as far as replacing cross-town rivals Liverpool in the fourth spot. A few injuries and bad luck spoil their season each year, but why exactly are Everton even so good?

First off, having a great manager always helps. Click to continue reading...

4
Everton have hit back at Rafa's claims that Stevie G did well to rise above the torrent of rancid abuse directed at him from the Toffees fans on Sunday by issuing their own allegations, claiming that both Phil Neville and Joleon Lescott were abused. Everton are fighting for a top finish in the English Premier League this season and defender Joleon Lescott is one of the primary reasons why David Moyes' side are performing so well. CHI’s Best XI of January 2008: Eto’o, Lescott, Casillas, etc.

Well I wanted a new feature this year and, after a long thought process (about a minute or so) I opted for the one that would cause me to get laughed at/yelled at/argued with the most (and guess what? that's the point). So tell me who I missed, who I should watch out for, and [...] Click to continue reading...
