What Larks Pip!

1
I'm loving being second in the League table - even if it is League 1.

Probably not as much as Hull fans will be enjoying being above Manchester United in the Premiership though.

And I wonder how we will get on tomorrow night against Fulham in the League cup. We did well last year - beating Aston Villa and only just losing out to Chel$ea . Click to continue reading...

Pistolas FC to take on Silver in Round 1

0
MARKHAM - Well, the regular season is over and now the elimination playoffs begin. It's do or die time, and it'll take 4 wins to claim the coveted Centennial Cup Championship.

After the games were completed and the standings set, there were two ties. Pistolas FC and Limeys FC tied for 3rd overall, but in head to head action Limeys FC won both its matches against a short benched PFC squad, and therefore wins the tie breaker for third. Click to continue reading...

Arsenal ace urges fellow countryman to join him at Emirates

1
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has urged fellow countryman Xabi Alonso to join him at the Emirates. The Liverpool midfielder has been linked with a £16 million move to the Gunners in recent weeks after it became clear that Rafa Benitez may have to sell the Spaniard to sign Gareth Barry.

"Xabi is my friend of course, but apart from that he is a great player," Fabregas said in The People. Click to continue reading...

Arsenal Boss Doesn’t Understand Adebayor Hatred

1
Arsene Wenger admits he he is struggling to comprehend Arsenal fans' animosity towards striker Emmanuel Adebayor. The Togolese striker has been jeered by sections of the Gunners crowd after a summer of flirtations with AC Milan and Barcelona, with many believing that last year's 30-goal hitman was keen to move away. Wonder goal: Pierre van Hooijdonk

Bert van Marwijk led Feyenoord to the UEFA Cup victory in 2002. Or did he? This is probably one of the best free kicks ever! Eat your heart out Platini, Beckham and Roberto Carlos. Pierre was da man! Click to continue reading...

Berbatov is ‘very much 100% a Tottenham player’ according to manager

0
'He's a professional cynic, but his heart's not in it' according to Blur when signing about a man who lives in a house, a very big house in the country. Tottenham's Dimitar Berbatov probably has a fairly large estate and it's also fair to say that his heart didn't 'look ... Click to continue reading...

Why I Love Arsenal and Hate Fake Fans

3
Sometimes when I write the blog, I scour the internet for news on arsenal.com, NewsNow, a bunch of other Arsenal blogs, etc. trying to find the latest Arsenal stuff to present to you all. Sometimes something just comes to me that I think I should write. This is one of those times.

I live in Jacksonville, Florida, in the United States of America. Click to continue reading...

Not Everything Can Be Cured With Antibiotics

0
I made myself some tea tonight and settled down to watch the England match.

Only to find it wasn't on. Not on any of the four channels I can receive anyway.

What should I do? Go upstairs and listen to it on Five Live over the Internet? (I try to avoid having to re-tune my radio because I'm not very good at it)

Or would the allure of a programme about embarrassing diseases prove too much? Click to continue reading...

Has Ronaldo Burned His Bridges With Us?

3

Say what you like about United the brand, but the heart of United the club and it's support, is working class and they don't take too kindly to players that make more in a week than they do in a decade, claiming they're slaves and generally behaving like complete idiots.

That's what we were subjected to over the Summer by Ronaldo and it looks to have caused a nice rift between him and sections of the United faithful.

The Official Seth Stammler Love-In

0
A few week's ago at an RBNY match I had a convo in the stands with the guy next to me about some hypothetical trades related to some of the current transfer rumors. The question was raised as to who would be a bigger loss for the team if they were to move on: Jeff Parke or Seth Stammler.

Without going into details of the seemingly endless beer-fueled debate, it was decided that while Jeff Parke is the heart of the clubs flawed defense and an all-around bad-ass it's Stammler and his versatility that would hurt the most. Click to continue reading...

Liverpool Hope University used in Nigerian scam

"The name of Liverpool Hope University has been used in an internet scam.

About 15 students in Nigeria have been sent fraudulent degree offer letters purporting to be from Liverpool Hope University.

The bogus educational and scholarship agencies have then asked the applicants for non-refundable acceptance fees. Click to continue reading...

two wins in a row!

Image by goddam via Flickr well, if a fan needed any more proof that the new york red bulls have started to turn things around this season, yesterday's game was exactly what we wanted to see.

sure, we had a rough start to the first half, looking a bit disorganized, but that quickly faded, and we became a SOCCER team. Click to continue reading...

Keller introduced by Sounders FC

0
It wasn't a big surprise, but it is a big move. Seattle now has a world-class 'keeper tending it's nets.

Listening to Keller though, who was born in Olympia and grew up in Lacey I believe, it appears as though playing on the field is only one of his goals.
I would love to be what (Franz) Beckenbauer has become to Bayern Munich for example.

Imposter! Frankie Hejduk

0
Once again, old man river has been called up.  Yes, we're still thin at right back, but after Marvell Wynne's recent Olympic showing, he seems the obvious choice for this position (behind Steve Cherundolo, of course).  I don't care if Frankie has the greatest intangible qualities (i.e. heart, leadership, blah blah blah) in the world they simply don't [. Berbatov out, Arshavin in

4
The revolving door at the Lane keeps on turning and the next couple of days should see Dimitar Berbatov finally tie up his move to Manchester United, while Andrei Arshavin will become a Tottenahm Hotspur player.

Both these transfers feel like they have been dragging on for longer than we had to endure Justin Edinburgh at left back, and that was a long frigging time! Click to continue reading...

Flamini's replacement: Gokhan Inler?

1

Wenger has made signing a central midfielder to complement Cesc Fabregas a priority. With Flamini's departure, the team has a huge void to fill. His successful partnership with Fabregas in midfield was the salient feature of Arsenal's matchplay.

There have been numerous links to Gareth Barry and Xabi Alonso, both who in my mind lack the speed and industry of a Flamini.

US Women Overpower New Zealand

1
The US Women dominated New Zealand, putting in 4 unanswered goals in their final Group G match. The US girls looked sharp for the most part; playing a fast paced and physical match while New Zealand, in spite of their heart, were simply out classed.

In the other Group Match, Japan put on a second half scoring clinic to trounce Norway 5-1. Click to continue reading...

You can keep your billionaires

0
Since Daniel Levy came to the club, it's been rumoured that he's looking to get Spurs into the Champions League then sell on his shares at a huge profit. Other stories suggest he's a lifelong Tottenham fan with the club's best interests at heart. Maybe he's a bit of both.

He's had his good and bad patches for me but if what is happening at other Premier League clubs is anything to go by, I hope Levy is around for the foreseeable future. Click to continue reading...

Best of the best

2
Someone told me that they considered Marta to be "the best women's soccer player ever". I disagree, but not because I think it's impossible for her to one day make a solid claim to that title.

For me, Michelle Akers still occupies that "best ever" spot. Part of the reason why is that Akers was a gamer. Click to continue reading...

Predicting the Premiership

Everybody has an opinion. Some are based on instinct, some based on feeling from the heart, like my mate Lenny who insists that West Ham are going to finish fourth! The bid is in …

1

"Further to media reports, Chelsea Football Club can confirm we have made an offer to Real Madrid today (Thursday, August 7) for the transfer of Robinho."

Says a statement on the official Chelsea FC website. Short and sweet, eh? This ordeal, however, is certain to be anything but.

So we finally lodged a bid for the pint-sized Brazilian so true to Uncle Phil's heart.
