Arsenal are eyeing a move for Brazilian wonderkid Detinho, according to reports in the Spanish media. The forward, who plays for Brazilian outfit Corintians, has been likened to the Gunners' latest youngster to grab the headlines, Carlos Vela. The Mexican 19-year-old scored a stunning hat-trick in Arsenal's recent 6-0 demolition of Sheffield United and reports in Spain [. Click to continue reading...

What to expect: Liverpool vs PSV Eindhoven

0

Wednesday's Matchday 2 for Liverpool will be against Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven, currently 2nd in the Dutch Eredivisie. This will be held at our fortress, so I supposed it is easy to conclude that we will win comfortably. My prediction: 3-1. It will be a Gernando show : ))

In fact I will not be surprised if PSV were to score first, just like Marseille did in Matchday 1.

Torres Pays Tribute To Kuyt And Keane’s Contributions

0
DERBY match-winner Fernando Torres has hailed unsung heroes Robbie Keane and Dirk Kuyt for providing him with the chances to defeat Everton at Goodison Park.

The Spanish striker, who netted 33 goals in his debut season at Anfield, took his tally to three for the new campaign thanks to his brace on Saturday and was only denied the first Merseyside hat-trick for 26 years by what seemed to be a fussy Mike Riley call when Kuyt was adjudged to have committed a foul. Vote three times for Connor’s hat trick

0

I mentioned it in the recap, but we should really flood the box for Connor Casey's goal as Goal of the Week. It was an amazing, last-second, game-winning, hat-trick-clinching strike. So vote early and often Rapids fans. We really don't get enough of these.

New York Red Bulls 4-5 Colorado Rapids

0

How did New York win the Super Bowl? They peaked at the end of their season, going into the playoffs. That's a different sport, of course, but it's a good lesson to remember: to win a title, you have to finish strong. And so far, the Rapids are doing just that.

It's hard to say that the Rapids don't have momentum right now.

Casey Named Player of the Week

0
Colorado Rapids midfielder Conor Casey has been named MLS Player of the Week for Week 27 after bagging a hat trick against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, including the game-winning goal in second-half stoppage time. In winning the honor, Casey's offensive outburst overshadowed other sensational individual performances by the likes of Yura Movsisyan and Darren Huckerby, who scored two goals each over the weekend. New York Score Four and We Still Win?

2
Everyone got their breath back? The final whistle blew almost 24 hours ago and I can't seem to shake this game out of my mind. The image of Mehdi Ballouchy's fantastic cross onto Conor Casey's outstretched boot in the final minutes of the game remains largely fixed. It was not that the defenses were so poor on both sides. Maybe it does matter who scores

0
I think I'll contradict my post yesterday where I stated that it doesn't really matter who scores, only that we win (link). The essence of it is still very much true, in that we just want the team to win, any way we can.

But there's serious positive effects for a player when he scores (not including OG's). Click to continue reading...

England skipper John Terry believes the future is very bright for the national team and claimed Arsenal are not the only club with talented young English players. We had barely digested Saturday's match before it was time for another epic performance. This time Sheffield United were to be ridiculed by Arsenal's youngest team ever in the Carling Cup. It was a Rolls-Royce performance and it does get you very excited about the future when you see the amount of talent coming through at Arsenal.

The way the youngsters play is unbelievable. They are a carbon copy of the way the first team play, the coaches and Le Boss deserve a huge amount of credit for helping these players get to those levels. Click to continue reading...

Click to continue reading...

Kids have six appeal as they romp to Carling Cup win + goals video

I have to say I feel slightly envious of those who were at the Grove last night. With almost every game these days either on TV or available via a stream you really notice when there's just no way of seeing it. The fans who were in attendance were treated to a display from a team of great talent and potential and Sheffield United just couldn't live with them.
