Primetime Preview: Can The Revs Overcome?

1
Its been a while since we saw the New England Revolution dominate like they did during the early and mid summer months here. For various reasons the Revs have cooled off and have moved down the standings in the process. Injuries and a tough schedule can be to blame, so would tonight's MLS Primetime Thursday [. Weekend Preview: Only 8 To Go

1
Week 24 is already off to a hot start with Colorado's rare road upset of FC Dallas last night. The move bumped the Rapids back into the playoff picture for the time being. Several other clubs hope their luck can change like that this weekend as each club faces some more must-win matches. Back to our [. Click to continue reading...

CONCACF Champions League Preview

1
No more than five months after the previous regional tournament concluded, a new format kicks off tonight. Yup, the CONCACAF Champions League is getting under way and will not officially put and end to the CONCACAF Champions Cup and many other previous tournaments. I've said before that I love this new format and have really been [. Click to continue reading...

Week 22 in Major League Soccer is already firing on all cylinders. The weekend slate should be no different then the midweek portion of the menu. Primetime Preview: All Hype, No Stars

2
Usually a high profile match at this point in the season should get the hype it deserves. On paper Chicago and LA have some major star power for ESPN to get all giddy about but when MLS made their schedule they forgot one thing, that FIFA would be doing their dates in the midweek for [...] Click to continue reading...

Midweek Preview: SuperLiga Clubs Clash

0
I guess the monkey wrench in the 2008 MLS schedule was this week. We all knew these four clubs would be in SuperLiga and that their summer schedule would be a little funky. Well, this is the week they try to catch up with the rest of the league in terms of games played in [...] Click to continue reading...

The Rematch: New England Revolution vs DC United

0
1 week ago, DC dispatched a New England reserve side and advanced to the finals of the US Open Cup. This week, DC plays NE again. The faces have changed, but may the result be no different. Again, Matt Reis will not be playing, but NE looks to have more of its attacking options with them, [...] Click to continue reading...

MLS Weekend Preview: Breaking Through

0
I think this weekend will be all about breaking through the mold or crumbling even more for some MLS clubs. The gridlock in the middle of the standing should lighten up a bit here as well. We are right at that two-thirds mark of the season and this season has proved that everyone is nearly [...] Click to continue reading...

MLS Primetime Preview: SuperClasico III

0
Few rivalries in Major League Soccer are this good. Seriously. I suppose its all due to the fact that the two clubs share a stadium that was originally just mean to be for one team. Or maybe its the fact that one club is more American and the other is Mexican in its roots. Either [...] Click to continue reading...

Pre Game: DC United at New York Red Bulls

4
Far be it for me to neglect you, readers, on the day before the classic NY-DC matchup up at the stadium named after my NFL team. From what I can gather, DC is using this game as a chance to work back in some players coming off of injury. On turf, I'd have [...] Click to continue reading...

Weekend Preview: Putting Out The Fire

Just when I thought the league was going back to their normal weekend routine, they throw another curve at me in the schedule. After no Thursday night game we are only left with four games this weekend. What gives?! Well, I won't complain too much here since the Olympics have started up (gotta love me [. SuperLiga Final Preview

1
Just how much do marketers in New York (or wherever SUM is located) hate this SuperLiga final match-up between New England and Houston? Before the tournament they saw plenty of dollar signs with the Mexican teams coming over to play in a bragging-rights kind of tournament, plus not to mention solid ratings with those teams [. Monday Night Futbol: RSL v. TFC

Just a crazy schedule it is. A Monday night game in July. Then again the league's All-Star game is on a Thursday night and games are played in 100 degree weather in Texas. Sorry for the delay in getting these up, I decided to hold off until today instead of yesterday like normal since there were no games on Saturday and all four games were shifted to Sunday. Taking A Night Off

Well, as you can see things have sort of slowed down today. I've decided tonight would be a good time to relax and chill out for once (not to mention go see The Dark Knight or Step Brothers). All-Star Game Preview

1
First off sorry for the long delay in posting anything today. No excuse other than laziness on my part for getting around to things today. Let's try this again: DCU vs. Houston

So, as of this morning, I'm told the power is back on at RFK Stadium and all systems are go for tonight's matchup with the Houston Dynamo. After a second postponement last night - due to power outages in SE DC - I think everyone is ready to get this game rolling. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

If this weekend is anything like last night's contest in Columbus, we could be in for a real treat of a weekend. Better Late than Never: Pre Game post DC United vs Atlante FC

I'm sitting in my office, after everyone has left. I just changed into my Quaranta jersey, and realized I have neglected my fair blog. MLS Weekend Preview: Trio of Games

Small slate of games this weekend in Major League Soccer, mostly due to this time of year being close to the All-Star break and due to four MLS clubs participating in SuperLiga against the best from Mexico (more on that later). Pre Game, Links of the Week, Access United and a Music Recommendation

Wooo. After a whole 3 days without a game, DC United is back in action in RFK against Chivas de Guadalajara. Let me say this, as an avid follower of the USMNT, having seen quite a few US v Mexico tussles, I can say that I'm not a big fan of Mexican football [...] Click to continue reading...

Hard to believe we are nearly half way home in this season here. Hell a couple clubs after this weekend will have already played half of their 2008 slate. MLS Weekend Preview: Unlucky Week 13

Oh, the week 13, the unlucky 13 to some. So far this week has seen three games and each have seen their fair share of unlucky sides. Last night in LA was no different as Chivas downed Chicago 2-0. I won't go too into that game but what I did see was a Chivas side [...] Click to continue reading...
