Click to continue reading...

Click to continue reading...

U.S. 3 - 0 Trinidad and Tobago highlights and commentary

1
I have to hand it to Bob Bradley and the U.S. National Team, they really came through and took care of business with the 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago. We even got to see a goal from Brian Ching so you know it was a terrific night. Clint Dempsey got his 4th goal in 4 matches. The defense looked really solid and Michael Bradley took his European success and showed what the hype was all about with a nice goal. Click to continue reading...

Bob Bradley compared to Bruce Arena

5
Here is an excellent article from Kartik Krishnaiyer on the MLS Talk blog that goes through the differences between the managing styles of Bruce Arena and Bob Bradley, and also provides some interesting thoughts on the recent callups that Bob Bradley has made for the U.S. National Team. For the most part, I agree with Kartik's column, but I disagree with the comments he made about Clint Dempsey. Click to continue reading...

U.S. squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers

9
Here's a link to an article that contains the U.S. National Team's squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago. The squad looks very similar to the recent one that was called up for the Guatemala game and I still would like to see some different players included. I don't really know what is accomplished by including Brian Ching, Eddie Lewis, and Frankie Hejduk. Click to continue reading...

U.S vs Guatemala review

6
Here is Jack Bell's article from the New York Times that reviews each player's performance in the game with a rating scale of 1-10, which is commonly done in soccer. To begin, I believe that Jack's ratings vary a bit too much. Its usually pretty rare that players on the same team get a score of 3 and also 8. Click to continue reading...

U.S. National Team - this is it???

13
Bob Bradley named the squad that is going to face Guatemala in the upcoming World Cup qualifier and while looking through the roster the question that comes to my mind is - don't we have a better team then this? Hasn't the time for Eddie Lewis, Frankie Hejduk, and Pablo Mastroeni come and gone? Who is being looked to as the main goalscorer - Landon Donovan? Click to continue reading...

Kenny Cooper - Don't go to Rosenborg!

20
The New York Times has an article about Kenny Cooper and Juan Toja leaving F.C. Dallas for Rosenborg and Steaua Bucharest respectively. I really think both players would be making mistakes, but especially Kenny Cooper. Kenny is on the verge of establishing himself as a top forward in MLS and is still young enough that there will be plenty of opportunities ahead for him if he stays in MLS. Cooper for Spain

1
Alright, I'm officially starting the Start Kenny Cooper Against Spain campaign. Anyone else want to join?

Cooper and Brian Ching played on the same field Wednesday as FC Dallas hosted Houston. Cooper scored a goal in the 2-2 draw, and it really was an awesome goal. The long ball was splendid from Pablo Richetti but Cooper's touch, poise and finish were sublime. Click to continue reading...
