People Resemble the Things They Despise

1. Everton - Liverpool. And yet, no amount of having a soccer blog could keep me from writing email throughout this tedious chore of a match. 2. Espanyol - Barcelona. Madness, violence, confusion, controversy: this was the match of the season for every one of soccer's wicked shadow synonyms. After giving up a goal on a [. Click to continue reading...

Steve Bruce Deserves Praise For Wigan Athletic Turnaround

1
The cold hard truth is that no one cares about Wigan Athletic. I've written about them in the past but even their own supporters aren't bothered to participate in the discussion. Out of the 20 teams in the Premier League, Wigan is the most underreported side. Unless, that is, there's controversy or a outspoken comment needed, [. Click to continue reading...

It was a good win for Celtic over the weekend against Kilmarnock, but it didn't come without some controversy. It’s over. Lock-up the place, and let’s head home.

1
And that sound, my friends, is the sound of this season coming to an end. United's loss to LA featured just about everything a neutral or a non-soccer fan would want. It had goals, controversy, passion (if mostly aimed at the referee) and even an ejection. That said, it was a horrible advertisement for MLS. Click to continue reading...

VIDEO: The worst call in the history of sport

36
You can watch the video, but you might not understand at first.

Even, I dunno, fish know that in soccer the ball has to go into the goal for a score to count, right?

Apparently the referees in the Reading v. Watford goal decided otherwise. In this game, a ball that goes next to the goal counts. Click to continue reading...

Champions League and UEFA Cup Roundup

Terribly sorry that I didn't post yesterday, but I've been uber busy. Anyway, since there's no national news, let's turn our attention to club news.
Champions League
Fiorentina tied 2-2 in their CL Group Stage opener with Lyonnais. The game was full of controversy, and you can debate until you're bluer than Tobias Funke over whether Lyonnais' first goal was valid or not.

Pondering Padilla

It seems like Jesus Padilla keeps modifying his history.
