Kroenke signs up as the board chooses their alignment

0
Only one thing to talk about today, and that is with the confirmation that Stan Kroenke has now joined the Arsenal board, a quite remarkable turnaround from when Peter Hill-Wood claimed 'we don't need his sort'. That view has been softened not only to stave off the interest from Usmanov, but also because Kroenke does seem to [. Click to continue reading...

Are You Happy With Berbatov Deal?

0
After staying up until close to 1am to get the official confirmation through, I am fairly relieved that I can now say Dimitar Berbatov is a Manchester United player. At the start of the day, upon hearing that City had tabled a new British transfer record for the player, I must admit I got a [...] Click to continue reading...

Sizzling Arsenal are back

0

Stupid decision to go away for the weekend. Stupid stupid stupid old me.

I can only go by the radio commentary and a grainy web stream from Fox Sports Australia, but my ears and eyes had a wonderful afternoon; we were fabulous.

The contrast to the Fulham game could not be more extreme, and thank the lord for that.

FIFA09 Will Get a Really Great Review in Pitchfork

4
Somebody over at EA Sports reads BrooklynVegan something fierce and I ain't mad at that. The tracklisting for FIFA09 was released today and I could have sworn I was looking at a list of bookings for the Mojave stage at Coachella festival. It's almost as if the target demo for this game is people who have ever uttered the phrase "what time does Daft Punk go on? Click to continue reading...

Savage Leaving Derby

1
Speculation is rife that Robbie Savage could make a shock return to his old club Leicester City amid a fall out with Derby boss Paul Jewell. Earlier this week Jewell declared himself publicly unhappy with Savage's performances in training stating that "Robbie wasn't happy about not being first choice and I wasn't happy with the way he reacted in training", this statement coupled with Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric's confirmation that Savage's name had been mentioned whilst considering new signings. David Trezeguet Retires From International Football

0

It seems that David Trezeguet has had enough.

In all honestly, I knew this was bound to happen, but it still makes me sad when a player hangs up his international boots, especially when they are forced into it.

While I freely admit that I don't think Trezeguet has a place on the team anymore (even without Domenech's help), nothing will ever erase his years of devotion to the NT.

Trezegol hangs up the boots

1

David Trézéguét's 20 goals last season for Juventus in Serie A were not good enough for Domenech and he did not include him in France's losing Euro team .So now "The awful Euros and the (re)confirmation of the (same)coach " have led Trezegol to call it quits also saying that besides there being too much Domenech there was also too much politics and too less football.

France’s Trezeguet Quits Internationals

"The awful Euros and the confirmation of the coach have led me to this irreversible decision," the 30-year-old told reporters at Juve's pre-season training retreat. "I see soccer differently from how they see it in France. The Euros were very negative but what annoys me more is that Domenech is staying," he said. Click to continue reading...

Argentine Defender Heading to Galaxy Named?

2

Several U.S. media outlets this morning identified the Argentine defender rumored to be heading to the Galaxy for the last week or so as 29-year-old Huracan player Eduardo Dominguez, based, in turn, on several reports out of Latin America.

Galaxy officials declined comment when I inquired about Dominguez today, which is sometimes the same as a confirmation, so read into that what you will.

Nasri on, Nasri off. Breathe in through nose, out the mouth.

0

Happy Tuesday to you all.

Let's begin with the ongoing saga of Samir Nasri. Yesterday the player seemed to confirm a 4 year move to Arsenal on his official website, prompting news sites and various copycats to go into overdrive. Nasri's official site then went down and later talk of the deal being done was played down by the player's agent, the horrible Jean-Pierre Bernes who said:

Discussions are continuing between the two clubs and the player.

Update from the Euros: Van Persie remains uninjured

Enough of that. Having no real transfer news to report - other than the confirmation that Lehmann is exiting - I can move on. There was good news and bad news for Gunners at Euro, as the French were knocked out at the hands of Italy. William Gallas went the full 90 in central defense, although hardly did anything worth mentioning.
