All The Bull: New Prospects, Dane Richards, Hunter Freeman and mo’ . . .

3

First off, permit me to apologize for over 3 days of none posting - a record for this blogging nerd. I will have pictures of what the hell I have been up to soon. In the meanwhile, I figure a good old "All The Bull" should bring everyone up to speed on things. Again, my sincerest apologies.

Riding the high of the DC game, alot of interesting and odd ball news has been popping up left and right.

The Start of Something Big?

5

Darren Huckerby from MLSNET.com

Today's last minute victory over the hated Galaxy in Oakland could be just the push the Earthquakes needed to make a playoff run late in the MLS season. The Quakes who have played solidly much of the season but lacked a scoring punch have now made the type of moves in the international and domestic transfer market that solidify the club as potentially very dangerous in MLS.

All The Bull: Cunningham trade?

4

- Would Jeff Cunningham be the cure for our goal scoring needs up top? Would he be a good fit with Angel's game? If you are day dreaming, not so fast. Cunningham's baggage has ruled him out of the Red Bulls plans, so says King Blogger Ives. A Cunningham signing, especially in light of TFC's current scoring woes, would have been a grasp of desperation by the organization.

OUTGOING: Hunter Freeman to IK Start?

5
American Soccer Reader is reporting that the reports out of Norway have the Red Bull New York player possibly headed to the Norwegian club. Should Freeman go to IK Start he will not be the lone American on the roster, nor would he even be the lone former MLS player. During the off season last winter IK Start signed another MLS player, FC Dallas's Clarence Goodson. Click to continue reading...

Mathis to Greece, Goodson to Norway

26
Clint Mathis is taking another stab at European football as has left the LA Galaxy and signed with Greece side Ergotelis. His last gig in Europe didn't end so well and his second stand in MLS was mostly a wash. Perhaps a chance with a team that is interested in having him play will motivate him to return to form, as it was obvious MLS bored him. Click to continue reading...

Expansion draft results - Happy Thanksgiving

11

I've been out of town and away from the computer for the holiday weekend so I missed the expansion draft. San Jose was able to draft 10 players while I was gone. I don't have much else to say (or the energy) so I'll leave you with the list:

  • Ryan Cochrane (Houston Dynamo)
  • Clarence Goodson (FC Dallas)
  • Ned Gravaboy (Columbus Crew)
  • James Riley (New England Revolution)
  • Joe Vide (New York Red Bulls)
  • Ivan Guerrero (Chicago Fire)
  • Brain Carroll (DC United)
  • Jason Hernandez (Chivas USA)
  • Gavin Glinton (LA Galaxy)
  • Chris Pozniak (Toronto FC)

No one picked up from Kansas City Wizards, Real Salt Lake or Colorado Rapids.

Well, MLSnet.com finally posted the list of players Frank Yallop picked up for the New Model San Jose Earthquakes in today's expansion draft (and thanks to all the good people out there who forwarded the list while I was blab, blab, blabbing away in another post). MLS: Week of Good, Week of Evil and the Schedule Ahead

2
The part of Week 27 that mattered ended with Los Angeles rolling to another win (psst...Colorado beat Toronto...no, I don't care either). That damnable pack of revenants keeps shuffling and scratching on some unholy quest to, once again, mock the regular season. If a simple demonstration of the stupidity of it all WAS the mission, [...] Click to continue reading...

FC Dallas 1-1 Chicago: Good Game*…um…Offside Equalizer?

3
(* This asterisk is meant to indicate I caught only about 25 minutes of the second half, but I'm assured by trustworthy parties that this was a good game.) FCD Over Columbus: Good Day to Be Goodson

5
Other reports: MLSnet.com When two teams you, as a fan, like about equally play one another, the best you can hope for is a great game. Happily, the Columbus Crew and FC Dallas obliged (me, at least) this Saturday by turning in one of the games of 2007. Crisp and intelligent movement produced countless threatening [...] Click to continue reading...
