That Wasn’t Supposed To Happen: RBNY 4 - Rapids 5

6

Two come from behind goals to tie the game, one goal for the lead, and the home result? Zero points. Ouch.

Last year, Bruce Arena was highly criticized for his inability to field a consistent squad week in and week out. Coach Osorio is beginning to get an earful for the same.

Red Bulls Preview: Game #21 vs. Orangina

3
Jeff Parke is injured. Gabriel Chicero is suspended. Just how will the New York Red Bulls continue their five-match unbeaten streak against Western Division leaders Houston on Sunday (3p, TF)? Adding benched Norway-bound D Hunter Freeman may be the answer. On August 13th, Freeman signed with IK Start of Norway, though he won't join the club until January. Click to continue reading...

Red Bulls Iron Chef @ The ESPNZone: Videos and Pics

3

Taking some well deserved time to goof off, a few Red Bulls players participated in an Iron Chef Cook Off at the infamous ESPNZone in Times Square. Each team was given thirty minutes to put together a dish, accompanied by a chef to guide them along. They would then be judged by a media panel that included reknowned pulitzer prize winning food critics, and on the other end of the spectrum - my personal fave - Shep Messing.

MLS Review Part 1: Kansas City v New York and SuperClasico

1

Kansas City Wizards 2 New York Red Bulls 1: Frankly to me the first half was not even a competitive contest. As I said in the chat at the time, I almost saw no reason to bother with the second half at all. LukeSassano epically was a waste of space and it was no surprise to me that he did not see any action at all in the second half.

Chivas USA/NY running blog

0
Sorry this is late. I couldn't find the TV channel for this at first.
"Andrea, why aren't you at the game?"
1. Gas is expensive.
2. I have no assignment to cover this match.
So TV running blog it is.
NY - Jon Conway, Kevin Goldthwaite, Hunter Freeman, Carlos Mendes, Seth Stammler, Sinisa Ubiparipovic, Dave van den Bergh, John Wolyniec, Dane Richards, Andrew Boyens, Jeff Parke
Chivas USA: Brad Guzan (GK), Claudio Suarez, Jim Curtin, Francisco Mendoza, Ante Razov, Carey Talley, Jonathan Bornstein, Bobby Burling, Jesse Marsch, Sacha Kljestan, Justin Braun
15 - I love the matches in Spanish - the announcers usually sound much more serious about the game. Click to continue reading...

POSTGAME: Make that Eleven - Red Bulls 1 - 1 New England

0

A tale of two halves is an expression that has probably been used and abused more than my favorite pair of socks. But how else can you describe tonites debacle?

The first half was dynamic, the second, sporadic. And as a result, the Bulls extend their winless streak to ...

Jorge Rojas, Vinotinto Vet, and Chris Innes - Trialists

0

Who says we need to pilfer Chicago for all our acquisitions?

Jorge Rojas, 30, a Venezuelan National veteran with 78 caps to his name, and the infamous Chris Innes, former captain of the bankrupt and dying Gretna FC of SPL, are now on trial with the Red Bulls.

I knew there was ...

Tie and Die in Carolina . . .

Goodbye Carolina Challenge Cup.

Once again, Bulls fans everywhere were treated to a snoozefest of a preseason tournament game, as we managed to tie the supposed "lowly" TFC 1-1. And in doing so, we helped clinch this years tournament winner, the San Jose "We are Expansion, Remember?

A Tale of Two Halves . . . .

6

YUP. ITS A TIE FOLKS.

So much for pouring on the pressure.

That lasted one half. The first one.

And clearly, the second belonged to New England (at least, quality goal scoring opportunity wise).

Now, with a tie heading into Gilette, our backs are truly against the wall.

What is it about us playing against the Revodouchers?

Now what? Lets get your opinions . . .

2

With the playoffs secured, a known opponent set, and nothing to gain, I ask you my loyal readers . . .

What should RBNY do with the next game heading into the playoffs?

We have seen similiar situations in the past - and every coach handles it differently.

Would you put in your best starters?

Or would the scrubs come out to play?

MLS Week 21 Perspecto-Scope: Boys Pegged; What About the Men?

3
Holy hell, was Week 21 a busy thing. But for all the running, kicking, and noise, does anyone feel like they've got a bead on which team - or even teams - stand as best in Major League Soccer (MLS)? I know I can't. On other end of the table, however, MLS's whipping boys bared [...] Click to continue reading...

Red Bull Loses, Wins: Hide the Children

5
There are ugly wins. Then there's the win the New England Revolution picked up against Red Bull New York. The Revs will take this home - albeit like a dog covered with a mystery rash requiring a long, long course of lubing with topical ointments, I doubt they'll be showing it off. As the [...] Click to continue reading...
