Whether hooped socks really go with hooped shirt and blue shorts...? QPR's Hoops (Given that many - if not most - other Championship clubs already have their team photos up on their websites, presumably QPR will soon have their team photo posted.)

Stuart Baxter said that the Israel game would be a dress rehearsal for the Germany match in September, and he was pretty relieved that it went as well as it did. Reds Ease To Victory

1
Liverpool's increasingly impressive unbeaten pre-season run was stretched to seven games against Valerenga in Oslo - but they suffered the worrying loss of skipper Steven Gerrard.

The midfielder limped off in the first half of this comfortable 4-1 victory with what looked like a recurrence of a groin problem that has dogged him in recent weeks. Click to continue reading...

Flashbacks: Walton and Camp Sign for QPR...Then QPR's Chairmen Caliendo was Speaking on QPR Matters

0
-
One year ago, considerable fan optimism as QPR were splashing the cash (by their standards) by signing two young players with some pedigree: Lee Camp and Simon Walton. Should be an interesting season for the two of them, as Camp fights for that #1 spot and Walton sees if he can get into the QPR squad. Click to continue reading...

Portsmouth - The Team to Watch in 2008/09

3
The English Premier League is a unique league where each season brings one surprise package. QPR and Chelsea: The Humiliation/"Long National Nightmare" is Over

Over the years, QPR's #1 Rivals have been Chelsea (although Chelsea's #1 Rivals has not usally been QPR.) For the first three quarters of the twentieth century, s, Chelsea were clearly the "top dog" although it was not until 1968/1969 that the two clubs first met in a league game (QPR losing 0-4 to Chelsea at Loftus Road). Round-up

0
Nothing in the +10 range, but...
  • Barton spared more jail - He'll still miss the early season, so nothing here.
  • Pompey take Sahar on loan
  • Wigan seal De Ridder deal - If this move is half as successful as Bruce's picking BRM's pocket for Palacios, it will be a good deal indeed. However De Ridder didn't show much at BRM when he was given the chances that Palacios never had.

Several outlets, including the Guardian and the Times, now see Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari as the top candidate to take over at Stamford Bridge next season. Rijkaard and Mark Hughes apparently join him on a three-man shortlist. If Scolari is indeed the man, he likely won't sign until after Euro 2008.
