Aston Villa 0 - 0 LFC *yawn*

0

Some would agree that this was an absolute borefest while others would not. Martin O'Neil and Rafa didn't get into a scrap and Barry didn't cry so it was definitely not the grudge match we were hoping for. For me, the game pretty much ended when Torres came out with a pulled hamstring because at that point the attack threat was gone.

Aston Villa sign James Milner

1
Look out Manchester United and Chelsea, Aston Villa have signed James Milner! Doing exactly as I predicted in previous columns, Aston Villa aren't spending big money on a player that can really have a major impact, but are signing a collection of nice, complimentary players who will make their team better, but will not put them in the same league as the big clubs. Inler Opts At Udinese Stay Thanks To Last Gasp Meeting

1
After a meeting yesterday evening with Udinese boss Pasquale Marino, reported Arsenal target Gokhan Inler will be staying at the Stadio Friuli despite recent quotes from his agent suggesting the 25-year-old's future may lie elsewhere. Gooner Talk told you several days ago that the Switzerland international was on the verge of a move to north London but according [. Click to continue reading...

Martin O'Neill is losing it

3
If Ashley Young is worth £30 million then I'm worth £50 million and I'll through in the rights to Pro Soccer Weekly. Martin O'Neill is crazy if he thinks he can get that much a fringe player on the England team that can't even make it to the Euro 2008 tournament and is drawing 2-2 with a weakened Czech Republic team. One In, One Out, One More to Come In?

4
As revealed late on Tuesday night, Arsenal have completed the surprise signing of Mikael Silvestre from Manchester United.  The France defender becomes Arsenal's fourth summer signing and will add experience and versatility to the squad.  The greatest surprise was that Ferguson allowed him to move to one of United's rivals. Karthik’s Observations - Premier League Week I

0
This last weekend, I had to miss the mouthwatering season start fixtures and move houses. So here is my late report based on the highlights I was able to catch online.  Geovanni I cant believe this fellow was released by Manchester City. Facing their mini personnel crisis and lack of funds, I have no idea why [. Click to continue reading...

3
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is to make one final attempt to sign Swiss International Gokhan Inler from Serie A side Udinese, according to reports in The Daily Mail. Should I Stay Or Should I Go

3
This indecisions bugging me
If you dont want me, set me free
Come on and let me know
Should I cool it or should I blow?
Should I stay or should I go now?

Aaaahhh the good ole Clash, you've gotta love them and never were more those words more appropriate then when looking at the many indecision regarding so many players across Europe. Click to continue reading...

Rafa Benitez nearly quit Liverpool boo hoo

2
Poor old Rafa Benitez nearly quit Liverpool because of how they handled the whole transfer saga regarding Gareth Barry according to this article in the London Times. Well my answer to that is boo hoo poor Rafa. If you want to quit Liverpool go ahead and do it because you are far from God's gift to management. Click to continue reading...

Aston Villa not ready for the £30 million player

3
So here is Aston Villa's latest signing, Carlos Cueller, not exactly the £30 million player they talked about signing. He's a nice player, and probably will fit in well with their squad and adds to their collection of some nice signings, which should guarantee that they try to challenge for a European spot and end up in the top half of the English Premier League. Arsenal Sign New Manager!

3
Morning all. I have a very special announcement for you all today. Arsenal have decided that Arsene Wenger has no idea what he's doing, and they're moving on. They've found a new manager, and he's just what everyone has been hoping for. He's got a much better track record than Wenger, who of course only won three league titles and four FA Cups and is Arsenal's most successful manager ever. Click to continue reading...

"Money, its a gas." "Think Ill buy me a football team."

2
I thought it was appropriate to quote some Pink Floyd lyrics when looking at these 2 stores in the London Times. According to this article, the Gareth Barry deal has fallen through for the 342ns time this summer due to the unwillingness of Liverpool's owners to provide the funds to sign Barry.

This other article from the London Times describes how Harry Redknapp would like to try and mount a challenge on the bigger clubs, but isn't being given any additional funds to acquire the players that he needs to complete his squad. Click to continue reading...

Gareth Barry - a Villan not a Villain

1
I read this article by Jose Moran from Fox Sports.com and I disagree with a lot of it. Its very easy these days to criticise Gareth Barry, but to say that he betrayed Aston Villa is taking it a bit far. You have to try and look at the situation from his perspective for a minute. Gareth Barry has given his all to that club for many years and they continue to be a team that will finish in the top half of the table, with a slim hope of challenging for a place in Europe. Gareth Barry should stay at Aston Villa

1
Just from looking at this latest report from ESPN on the whole Gareth Barry transfer saga and it is apparent to me that he really should stay with Aston Villa. I know that he would like to move to Liverpool because he feels that it represents a better opportunity to challenge for major trophies, but he is obviously a hero at Villa. Keane v Barry

1
I don't want to appear to be counting chickens before they're hatched, and hopefully I'll have more to write about this early next week, but I wanted to say one thing upfront. Georger said similar in the comments last night, but I want to expound on it as well.

If it comes down to Robbie Keane or Gareth Barry, I'm taking the somersaulting Irishman (worst celebration ever) every time. Click to continue reading...

Will it be Yaya?

7
Whilst the players have been going through their paces in Austria, Arsene Wegner has been going through his book of possible midfielders to bring to the club.  Having seen the paucity of players available to him, the Arsenal manager must be regretting allowing Lassana Diarra to leave in January. Wenger would like to bring someone in [. Click to continue reading...

Kolo Toure Has Malaria

3
Just what we needed. The man I've been wanting to captain this team for the new season contracted malaria over the summer in the Ivory Coast. He was feeling a little weakness during the training camp in Austria and was taken to the hospital for a check up, and they discovered...wait for it...that he has contracted the deadly disease. New Signing Imminent

3
One player of experience will definitely join Arsenal, according to Arsene Wenger. In an interview after Saturday's game at Barnet, Wenger was asked about impending signings, his reply was, 'I cannot give you any names, but we are still thinking of bringing in one player, yes. We've lost good players, but we have bought two [. Click to continue reading...

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Arsenal have hinted they may enter the race to sign midfielder Gareth Barry. Sergio Aguero Could Come To Arsenal

5
Morning all. You know when you sleep for like a pretty long time and you really shouldn't be tired but you're tired all the same? That's how I am right now. I'm also in the mood to eat some Subway, but that's another story entirely.

So on to the news. What news you might say? Well it seems Sergio "El Kun" Aguero has been linked with Arsenal after some quotes from his agent. Click to continue reading...

Adebayor, Arshavin, and Other Transfer Stories

Howdy. That's how we do it here in Florida, with a howdy. We've got a good bit of stuff today actually, so that's good because there hasn't been much to write about for oh...about six weeks. So let's get right down to it!

First off, Robert Pires has been selected as the 6th greatest Arsenal player of all time! Click to continue reading...

Robbie Keane has shocked Tottenham supporters as he today demanded a move to Liverpool. With Peter Crouch likely leaving the club, Keane would be a welcome addition. Portsmouth not giving up on Liverpool striker - no sir!

Harry Redknapp knows the tricks of the trade. Will Liverpool stump up cash for Villa player or not?

0
It appears that 'The Gareth Barry Saga' will come to a head over the next few days, just what will the end result be?
