Tough Ask for Home and SAF

Tonight sees the second leg of the AFC Cup quarter finals with all four local sides facing tough challenges.

The Malaysian FA gets a torrid time around the region. Last season they stubbornly insisted Manchester United play a friendly game in KL despite the fact they were hosting the Asian Cup, Asia's Euro Championships, at the time.

Nelson Heading South?

Nelson Martin, one of the stars of Kedah's recent treble success in Malaysia, is rumoured to be heading south of the causeway but it is unknown at the moment which SLeague side will be snapping him up.

It does seem odd that one of the reasons the Malaysians gave for getting rid of their foreigners was they weren't good enough yet players like Marlon Alex James would thrive at this level everywhere. Click to continue reading...

Kedah became back to back treble winners at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in KL as they came from behind to beat Selangor in the Malaysia Cup on Saturday night.

With Malaysia kicking out the foreign players effective from the end of August Kedah and Perak now face AFC Quarter Finals against strong West Asian nations shorn of their best players.

And it's bye bye foreigners. The FAM has decided the ills of Malaysian football can be laid at the door of the foreigners, player like leading scorer, Marlon Alex James who netted 40 goals last season.

All players on contracts will have them terminated.

Dennis Bergkamp Voted into Hall of Fame
