Class 2 District 5 is made up of 9 teams from Southwest Missouri: Aurora, Bolivar, Carl Junction, Cassville, Logan-Rogersville, Marshfield, Monett, Webb City and West Plains. Aurora returned to Class 2 this season following two years in Class 1, Logan-Rogersville began soccer this season. The District finished 1) Bolivar 2) Cassville with Monett and Marshfield reaching the semifinals this season.

Congratulations to the Springfield Catholic Fightin' Irish and the Glendale Falcons for reaching the State Final 4.

It is the first trip for the Irish, in their second year of play, matching the Crocker Lion's achievement last year as a 2nd year team. The girls team has reached the Final 4 three times, in 1999, 2003 and 2004, finishing 4th, 3rd and 2nd respectively on those three visits.

Probably the final weekly report for the season, as the number of teams narrows dramatically allowing future posts to focus on teams rather then the region as a whole. Maybe I'll have time to shop for Xmas prior to December 23rd (my normal shopping day) as things slow down!
