Southend United 3-3 Colchester

0
Southend United were extremely fortunate to pick up a point at Roots Hall as the visitors and arch rivals Colchester dominated large parts of this game.

But thanks to Jean Francois Christophe's last second goal - 4 minutes into injury time - the Blues kept their fine home form intact.

Ironically the Shrimpers started the game in high tempo, picking up the way they left off against Leeds on Tuesday. Click to continue reading...

Have you noticed - we're in the midst of the worst financial crisis in 80 years? Oh you did...good.

Bristol Rovers 4-2 Southend United

0
Southend United were ripped apart by Paul Lambert who scored all four goals for his side as the Blues were destroyed by some lethal finishing and appalling defending.

Lambert completed a hat trick after just 33 minutes at the Memorial Stadium - the Blues being completely outplayed.

Lambert scored his fourth before the Blues got two consolation goals - first from Peter Clarke (70) and then substitute Francis Laurent (75). Click to continue reading...

Scunthorpe 1-1 Southend United

Southend United gained a valuable point at table-topping Scunthorpe on a chilly October night at Glanford Park. But the Blues will feel hard done by after conceding a dubious penalty with just eleven minutes to go.

The first half was a gritty affair with both sides playing some good football. Click to continue reading...

Southend United climbed to sixth in the League One table with a deserved 2-1 victory over Swindon at Roots Hall.

Substitute Francis Laurent grabbed the winner for the Blues on 71 after an effective - if unspectacular - team performance helped the Shrimpers to within five points of league leaders Scunthorpe, who Southend face on Tuesday night. Click to continue reading...
